Metal Halide too much!?

Just was wondering if my 400 what mh is too much for seedlings? my area is 3.5x3.5 and i have the light like 2.5ft away from them. is that too close?:joint:

Id raise the light more, and make sure you have an osciallting fan on a low setting..

I have a 12" ocillating fan and the door stays open. plus another little fan that pulls air from outside.

At that distance, it has less output than fluoros do. So, as long as the heat is okay, the plants will be okay(as mentioned).

Keep an eye on 'em, and watch for stretching. :)

I had 1 that stretched, but i got rid of it. I was just asking because the soil was drying out too quick. So what do u guys think a sufficient distance would be for the 400watter? On the other note, I have 2 Cheese and 2 Yumbolt-47 in veg right now under 4, 4ft t-8's that are doing wonderful! I transplanted them on the 31st and they still don't need water. Is that normal?
