metal halide vs. mercury vapor

I was just wondering if you can use the same light fixture for metal halide bulbs and mercury vapor bulbs, because the only fixture's I can find in this town are either mercury vapor or high pressure sodium.
 
Im gonna go out on a limb and guess no, im pretty sure thats how fires are started.......

find a hydroponics store online and order yourself a MH/HPS ballast.

htgsupply.com has one, i paid like $170 for it.
 
Yeah I wasnt going to say anything but I too would be worried about fires. Hell my growbox is 99% paper lol.
 
lol, if you take care of everything, you wont have to worry about fires, make sure nothing burns you, fires dont start untill 200+ degree's, and unless it electrical you shouldent have to worry about it, but get mh/HPS dont get that other rubbish.
 
Thanks for the help fellas, I bit the bullet and bought the mh & hps systems at htgsupply.com Didn't want to pay so much, but I guess I have to if I want to do it right.

i haven't used mine yet, but i have a feeling, seeing how bright that sucker is....it should yeild fantastic results....Good LucK!
