looks overwatered to me. perhaps the soil is too heavy but i think you would be better off letting it dry more between waterings, till you stick your finger and its very dry inside, and the pot is very light to lift.

also maybe time to lift the plant and check to see if the roots have taken over the pot... something is strange there in the proportions?

Proportions ? What do you mean ?

I have started leaving it longer between waterings and today i have fed half strength grow nutes and epsom salts so will see how she responds.

Had an issue with heat yesterday as outside the cab it was 81F inside was 90F :( sadly not much i can but hope for some cooler weather

Here is an updated picture as of today 3weeks old and to be honest she doesn't look very happy at all :( I last watered her 1/2 strength BB Grow nutes on Saturday and some epsom salts with ph adjusted tap water to 6.7.

The more I see this I think you are right I am overwatering - I will let the pot dry out until maybe wed / thurs this week and see how she is.... We had some really hot weather a few days ago and the temps got up to 89F at canopy level. Today I have dropped her down away from the light and she is at 78F

Any comments / ideas would be very welcomed as I really don't know what I am doing wrong

With regards to the roots question - She is in a 1 gallon pot and when looking at the holes in the bottom you can clearly see lots of roots - Should I repot ? I thought LR2 was ok in a 1 gal pot from start to finish...

ok so yeah definitely overwatered, might be root damage by now. so what you do, when the pot is half dry, lift the whole thing by pushing from the bottom lid and/or pulling from the stem. Look at the roots, if they are wrapping it nicely - it is time to repot. But more importantly, look at the color of the roots. if they are brownish at some places - this is bad and requires intervention. at any rate, i think you should put in some h2o2 in your next watering (and forget about the days - just water only when the pot is very light to lift and the soil is dry), if you can some rooting complex and enzymes, they are supposed to be helpful in these situations, and/or other stress-countering stuff you may have. if you need to repot, perhaps better to wait till after next watering.

Looking at the roots in the bottom of the pot they are mainly white with some brown spots. I will leave her for a few days until the pot dries completely and then re-evaluate. Thanks for the prompt reply...

Quick update - I have put some newspaper under the pot to draw out the excess water and she seems to be responding well - It's funny the leaf set at the bottom of the plant now look nice and strong although a little yellow but the top of the plant is still limp and very dark green ! When she has dried out completely I will feed her a low dose of both grow and flower nutes but with a very limited amount of water.

It's annoying as I told myself I wouldn't fall into the trap of overwatering but thinking about it I made the classic noob mistake - I have 1 gallon pot and the last time I watered her I used 1.25L of water - FAR too much !!!! I will now water 0.5L per watering max.

Thanks

B

p.s. I found a wicked post on the net earlier and I will post this in the noob section so others don't fall into the same trap as I did...

hey bob, i think you got it all wrong. overwatering is not about how much you water every time - but about how much you let your soil dry between waterings, and how well and quick it does that. let your soil dry out to the point where you lift the pot and it is very light - like it has nothing but dirt in it. When you do water, water thoroughly as long as it takes till water starts running from below (and even if you water more, it doesn't hurt - just more water going through the soil, it kinda washes it).

This will ensure that you are not overwatering. IF you still have problems, perhaps your soil is very heavy and dries too slowly and drains poorly for some reason.

Thanks for the feedback - I am using one gallon pots with Biobizz allmix so there should be anything wrong with the soil - I just figured if I add less water i.e. 500ml then there would be less danger of over watering as I did this earlier on an empty pot and it was enough to make the soil wet & have some dripping out the bottom without the risk of completely soaking the root system - Are you saying then the volume of water doesn't matter ?

yep, pretty much
it matters in other terms - flushing, that is. when watering more than what it needs and running water through it, you're "washing" the soil. that's the way I see it anyway.
