mh for flowering white widow and other "white" strains

I've heard that white widow and other "white" strains fair better when using MH during flower, is this true? Or is it a combo between the MH and hps spectrums that gets results. Once again I'm only wondering about "white" strains, WW in particular.

well im growing White widow under a 400w HPS and flowering seems pretty fast to me had no problems so far....

Got the sex of the plants in around 4-6 days and now they are looking good.

I grew swiss cheese from nirvana on my last grow. I vegged it for 4 weeks under MH and I switched to hps and vegged it for 2 more weeks and it grew like crazy under the hps and stretched as well. But, swiss cheese is a swissXskunk cross and WW is an indianXbrazillian cross, either way I don't know if that means MH would be better for flowering this strain. Would it be because its a "white" strain and MH light is close to white... Idk. That was dumb. I just need someone who has experience in the subject. That or try it myself.

I don't have experience but from what I've seen and read hps is the way to go in flowering with any strain if you have to choose one. Using both will obviously be better!

ive tried this a few times and what i found out was that its best to grow this way not just white strains but all strains will finish rock hard this way.... just change to hps in the last 2-3 weeks

Why not try a cmh bulb?
They say mh in flower increases trich production because of the uv or uvb rays from the bulb..Not too sure but i think thats why with white strains(known for bieng frosty) people would want to use a mh or cmh bulb for flowering..

So...what did you find out?...I read about the MH bulb being used through flower, and am doing it now, but I am thinking about switching the bulbs every few days to see what that does, I have flowered under the HPS a few times and they just get too darn hot...I haven't had the cash yet to get an air cooled hood, and kinda started making one, ---got the whole thing built and put together, but then hubby lost interest and hasn't yet picked back up to wire the thing...but I have the glass reflector part made---anyway HPS gets too hot and I don't have a way to cool it down---my circulation fan makes it cool enough for the MH, but not the HPS so I started looking it up and found somewhere where someone said that it would make less dense more resinous buds, and then I found one thing that said they noticed no decrease in yield or quality, but that it was somewhat different and more resinous...most people say just to use HPS and stop asking questions...lol. So who knows, but I am using one and am in 2 weeks of flower so far...things look good and the same as the HPS only cooler and decidedly less yellow...lol

plain and simple guys, our types of plants that we are growing need that red spectrum color to grow decent size flowers. yes MH bulbs will work but not even near what an HPS bulb will do. if u want great color and weight which im sure everyone of u willl want then u have to go with HPS bulbs. no matter what type of "strain" u grow MH will not do better than an HPS bulb. if any bulb will work great outside a standard HPS bulb it would be a duel ark bulb or across the spectrum bulb like the hortilux super blue or hortilux's Blue which has remarkable mix of all the colors the plants see and take up
