MH vs HPS for flower

1000w DE CMH has just appeared and there’s bound to be plenty ballasts and bulbs coming.

Lumatek has the 1000w Utopia next year, 1000w CMH / HPS DE switchable ballast. Be a good option. Dimmable, HPS boost able to 1100w.

I imagine we will see more and more CMH in big grows going forward.

Not familiar with CMF. Could a CMF bulb be used with a MH ballast?

There used to be a 600w old bulb I saw lots of discussion about in the UK,but it was nothing like the efficiency of these modern 315/630 now 1000w DE CMH. People would run those with MH ballasts. But I doubt the bulbs are even available now.

But no, CMH bulbs need their own type of ballast. This new Lumatek one with switchable between HPS / CMH is the first I have seen of switchability with CMH support.
