mh vs. hps

How big of difference am I going to see from flowering with a MH bulb? Its my first grow and I didn't know my ballast was for MH bulbs only!! Will I still get good buds?? Plz all comments are helpful

from what i read they will be fluffy not condensed like under a HPS. a good idea would be to get another fixture/ballast with both MH/HPS - that way you have a spare if a bulb gets blown or a ballast goes so you won't be without light while getting another. It will also give you both light and more light capabilities if you need it. well worth the $125 spent just for peace of mind alone. Nothing worse than getting down to the wire and have something go wrong that is an easy fix if there was a replacement. just my couple of pennies.

I just finished up a full MH grow from veg through flower, true they will not be as dense as bud grown with a HPS but the end results is still phenomenal. On 24-30" ladies I still had cola's stretching 10-12" with solid bud formation, no gaps.

old post i know, no need to switch ballasts as they make hps/mh conversion bulbs for both types
