And also, today is the day I joined the apple juice experiment... I filled the tubs today with nutes/water and 1/4 cup of apple juice. And will continue feeding just one tub with apple juice each time I feed them... and flush it with water and apple juice until harvest. Then compare the grow and smoke with the other.. It's some thing B. THC R+D came up with and a bunch of us are testing it out... "Applejuice" It's Not Just For Baby !!! so far the first experiments came out very well =].

Looking forward to it homie!!! Try doing the AJ on the weaker lookin ones, see if it makes a big difference! I'ma do a side by side with Blueberry!!

Just read through the whole thread, and I'm bummed to reach the end. I'll just have to subscribe ;]. This is exactly the type of setup I'm looking to do, but probably even smaller, like an old computer case or something to flower a plant or two. Thanks for the awesome detail, I am deffinitely going to be using this as a resource for my project.

ever see a true full tower computer? I have a few from back in the early to mid 90's. old gateway 2000 or something. the case is a little under the hight of 2 normal computer towers. give you some extra head room if you can find one of those.

originally came with a 486-66 cpu. wow, that was back in the day.

my mom might have some old macs laying around, if i remember correctly the one she used to use was huge back in the day.

Thanks guys, and I'm glad you think this is going to be helpful... I want to do my part in freeing the herb.. I hope learning from my successes and mistakes help everyone who wants to grow there own supply..

I find those PC grows fascinating, and I'm sure I'll build one up later on, just for the fun of it.


Here is a pic of the clones. The yellowing was expected, as they use up stored energy and nutes.. but will pick up as soon as they form roots... By the way I checked them out and thy are starting to form tiny buds by the tip that will be roots, and thats good news.



Did some more fan leaf trimming. I cut just about all the fan leaves now to make room for the branches. This should give them more space and get the plants to use more energy on the branches.

Here is a fan leaf that I picked to be cut to make room for the undergrowth.



I follow the stem back to the plant, and plan my attack.. It's a tight fin in there and I don't want to damage any of the other growth with the blade or my hand.. this plant upfront is easy to trim, but the ones in the back takes some strategy as I move through them to get my fingers and blade in the right position to make a cut. It's actually fun.. though sometimes frustrating.. lol



Positioned to make the cut... I cut about a centimeter from the main stem. Being careful not to hurt the branch right above it. I use a fresh blade. Bend it in half until it breaks. I rub the edge with alcohol, then rinse before starting to trim.



.. and the cut is made.



Here you can see the new space that will quickly be taken over by the new lower branches.



There is a lot of new growth, and I'm thinking of topping them again. Normal topping this time, no fimming... I'll get pictures of that for next time.

The fan leafs got as big as my hand, and looked beautiful...



... so beautiful that my "assistant" is thinking of making a necklace charm out of one.. what do you guys think? =]





Spirit made the next move in our little game of scrog chess..



... and I simply tucked her under.

Looks good Wolfdude, keep trimming those fan leaves and don't be afraid to take out some of the sucker branches at the bottoms also. This will give you better air flow and push growth at the tops of the plant. Also, has your assistant ever worn woven under garments? They also create good air flow....Can't wait for the pics!

Thanks man, and I know what you mean.. I'm just waiting for the inetual "flowering stretch" to end... I will then trim everything that didn't make it to the canopy.

No net cups with the cloner... just slandered foam plugs that I got at the hydroshop

About 3".. I would put them closer.. but everyday I sneak a peak there will be a branch sticking out of the screen and too close to the lights.. If anything.. once they bud.. I will raise the lights as high as I can get them.

Update...

WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!!! =[

Last night I was going to feed the girls until I got a glimpse of this....


This is not a good sign at all =[






I acted fast and got the plants out of the cab... not easy with the screen in place. The roots are all tangled.. this was not a fun time with my girls =[





The tub was a mess, but I cleaned it all up as best I could..




Gently separated the roots, and gave them a good rinsing.


I'm not sure what caused this... but the apple juice is my main suspect, and as of now, my applejuice experiment is over... I just can't afford to take the chance right now. I didn't feed the girls, Instead I gave them pure ph'd water with some h2o2 to kill of anything left behind. I'll leave them like this for 24 hours... if they still look good, I will put them back to there regular feeding cycle. Wish me luck guys.


I have also rearranged the plants and put Star and Spirit together... and Esperansa and Wind together because so far Esperansa and wind have shown similar early sex activity. This will make it easer to move them if they do turn out to be boys.



Some better news. I checked on the clones and we have roots =]. 6 out of the 8 have roots.. 1 of the 3 remaining has little root buds.





I have not giving up on the last 2 with no roots... I re-cut the tips, made vertical slices down the stem, just penetrating the skin, and dipped them in rooting powder.. This gives them one more chance.
