Micro grow lighting question

what would give me a better yield? a 70w hps 1900k or 4 x 23w cfls 2700k? i know buying a 400w would be best, but im a broke college kid. the hps has better penetration but the cfls give light from 4 different points of the box.....i just dont know...little help here!! btw growing black domina and blue dream 12/12 from seed.

Why not go with both. The 70w alone would probably do better if I had to choose, but I'm not positive. Those 23w cfls put out about a 1500 lumens each vs the 70w hps being about 6500 or so. How much is that 70w? From what I understand, generally, the more light the better. Like raven said, I'd put both in if you can fit them and deal with the heat. One thing I've learned is that even light coverage and good penetration is very helpful.

raven the 70w has been converted to remote ballast and is rated at 6300 lumens. the reasoning behind not using both is space and heat (extremely stealth grow).

ive decided to go with the hps because i read on IC Mag 2700k still has too much blue in the spectrum to produce dense nuggetry...i want big dense buds without a ton of leaf in them. if you compare an hps to a cfl grow at 5 weeks flowering, the cfl will have more leaf and less dense bud, even if its super frosty. hps it is!!
