I was reading about some green dragon drink and the posts talked about using a microwave to dry the weed and activate the thc. are there any adverse effects to using the microwave.

If it works you owe me a gram.. But it's not like I wrote it. I am really leaning toward the whole water curing method, almost seems the hardest to mess up. But of course after I do it I may feel a differnt way.

I cant get myself to commit to water curing. ive heard to much crap about what it does to your taste. Although the people who promote it would die by it So who am i to judge.

Anything over 85 degrees is supposed to kill the T.H.C.
Force drying generally makes the weed taste horrible.

My plan is to try a few of the differnt curing methods on the same harvest, to compare and figure out what I like the best.

Oh and for the record I have made alcohol hash with the microwave on seevral occasions, I still got really high, so I am thinking the microwave doesn't kill THC as much as people may think.

I haven't even got to flowering yet, so not for a while and that's assuming I don't screw it all up in the process.

I cut off a bud and dried it out in the microwave. I put it in for like 20 seconds and then another 20 and so on and so fourth, till it was dry enough. It didn't smell much like weed when I was done, It was a bit harsh to smoke, but I did get high. I'm not suggesting to do it though. After drying and curing, the rest was much much better. But if your fiening for it and don't have any, you could take out a small nug and nuke it in the microwave.

The micro does work it makes the weed taste rough thou ........... If you are going to try this method id advise its with a thick Indcia and not a Sativa small indcia buds are alot easier to dry fast ..........

Well I sometimes will nuke a bud just for smoke. Kinda works....gets you stoned but it's better to wait...

I have used my food dehydrator, takes about three hours to dry a decent sized bud. Tastes like hell but still buzzy. If i absolutely have to have an early taste, I put in the over on 180 degrees until dry. I think thc vaporizes around 190 so thought is to keep it below vape temp and let it dry out slowly. Still tastes like hell but does work.

Here's what I do -

I nuke my buds for a short time - for a 1/2 oz, probably about 10-15 sec. Just enough to start wilting the leaves.

What this does - the brief burst of heat vaporizes some of the water in the plant cells, which bursts the cell walls open. This allows all those nasty chlorophylls and terpines an easy escape and evaporate - as well as the extra water.

After that brief microwave treatment, I let them dry. Sometimes in a dehydrator, sometimes in the open. Haven't noticed a huge difference. Anyway, they dry rather quickly - about 2 hours in my dehydrator. A day or two in the open.

The key here - after they are dry, you put them into a jar for a traditonal cure for a week or more.

It's still cured bud, but your able to skip the week or 2 of air drying. I find the smoke to be pretty good when it comes out of the jars.
