Might buy Atomix System from friend

What is the current opinion about the Atomix controller and nozzles? I have a buddy with a system for sale but I don't know if it's worth it. What do you guys think?

holy shit dude, i dont think anyone in the community has access to one of these at the moment.

you defintely need to buy it
however before you do that you NEED to take at least 50 pictures from every angle. especially of the inside of the controller and the nozzles(especially the orifice, from where the mist deploys!)

BTW what price does he have on it?

Well, I bought the Atomix stuff. It didn't come with the chamber, just one nozzle and controller. I doubt I can beat 2lbs on a 600w hps. That sounds insane. I have yet to beat the 1gpw goal. I don't care about massive harvests but if I could pull numbers like that I might start caring. Since people are interested in these parts I am going to start another thread once I get the Atomix set up in a chamber. I might have to buy a bigger root chamber than the one I have to work with. I was thinking about a 80 gal Botanicare reservoir. That would give me a pretty big area. I was going to set up the Atomix between my two Multiponics trays. If I go with the 80 gallon setup I should have enough space in my room. Does anyone have any root chamber ideas? I don't want something made of sheet plastic from home depot. I really want something professional looking. 2 of the botanicare 80 gallons on top of each other would be a sweet setup. I don't really have the money for all of that right now though. I still need to buy an air compressor too. I found a couple of oil free compressors that I will start thinking about.

Make sure the chamber is well insulated as root temperature is important with AA. Seal the chamber so the mist cant escape easily and your compressor will get a much easier life. It doesnt have to be expensive or flash to do the job.

sweet dude its always nice to have some one around here with something to offer.

im currently building a nice looking chamber. it will have a redwood frame, with 2 inch styrefoam insulation. the outside will be all aircraft aluminum. off of an old WW2 bomber. on the bottom where will be a drain and a silk rootscreen. and i will be-able to measure the runnoff EC and PH. on the top of the chamber i will use either corrugated polycarbonate, marine plywood, or a sheet of HDPE. on top of that will be 2 inches of styrefoam insulation.

*cough*
Do you know how to identify/measure the nozzle and body?
Could you possibly take some close up pictures of the atomix nozzle?
It is a rare artifact ;)
Much appreciated!

Cheers Jimmy.

Damn! I totally saw this exact one for sale in the denver craigslist! I have been emailing the dude for a month. You are a lucky man, I can't believe he was asking 400!!!! I would have loved to get my hands on that. I'd bring the nozzle to a fab shop and make replicas. *Waves hand "This is not the aero system you are looking for, better just sell it to me and save yourself".

i was gonna see if he would sell them to me too. but i think i would be better with some BETE XAPF050 nozzles. there a pressure fed internal mixing nozzle, of the flat fan variety (80 to 90degrees wide)
the specs say they have a throw of 8 to 11 feet. in the pressure ranges i will be using.

i just drew out a scale drawing of my future system. unfortunately its on paper and i lost my charger/battery for my camera, and i dont have a scanner.

the dimentions are 6feet x 5feet. with an unknown height. i will be running 120plants. with two gavita 1000 double enders( most efficient grow light out)
this is pending however as i might make it slightly larger as i will be overdriving my bulbs to 1150watts. perhaps 5.5x6.5feet

This is the atomix system from Denver CL? I posted that link in one of these threads a few months ago. That's awesome. It was 1K when I posted it. $400 is crazy! Atomizer, nice chamber! foil tape, Styrofoam, 4-6 mil plastic & corrugated panels. Ya got yourself a root chamber. Genius!

Found this old info from asropot.com cached pages:

• Push Button Cleaning Mechanism
• Patent: The future for British farmers, Plant silkworm rearers, Garden Centres, Micro farmers, nurseries, etc.

Atomix Once
Up Air Spray • 2 year manufacturer's guarantee
• Reliable and low-maintenance operation
• Fully Adjustable & User Friendly
• grow up to 400% more per plant!
• Reduce grow by up to 30%

The Aeroponic X-07 atomizer component systems are designed for: laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, educational institutions,
commercial farms and high profits plant / flower producers, Plant silkworm rearers, Micro herb farmers

Atomix Aeroponics systems are undoubtedly the most technologically systems are growing throughout the world, while also one of the easiest to use. The atomization process is achieved with the use of a pressurized air supply that collides with the liquid within the Atomix atomizers. The sheer force of the air supply always breaks the liquid into very small droplets and provides the lowest micron available on any type of nozzle. The Atomix nebulizer output is a mixture of air and finely atomised liquids in the climate chamber.

For propagation and the only true aeroponics system in the world that is specifically designed for full term growth.

Control:
The output of the spray nozzles are controlled by a unique solid state timer with a user-friendly digital interface for fine tuning. The complete control heallows the user to adjust the concentration of the liquid sprayed into the chamber and suitable for virtually all kinds of vegetable. The user is able to. Steuerungir one pressure, air-to-water ratios, liquid consumption and cycle timing in the pursuit of perfection

advantages
Atomix atomizer with a fluid opening created about 400 times larger than average water spray. This large opening allows the atomizer a cleaning needle that passes through the liquid contained in the opening of a button.

This cleaning mechanism offers valuable peace and removes all problems. long-term operation and a build up of salt / mineral deposits from the evaporated broth
