i'm crossing hijack with trainwreck. i'm calling it "raft". it will be an F2. i have several in flower and 1 outside in a pot. i'm seeding 1 inside. maybe more outside depending on how it turns out. if it is good i will seed the outside plant and most likely end up with several 100.

i often take a loaded paint brush and kinda just "flick" it over my outdoor garden. i will do this with more then 1 strain of pollen over more than 1 strain of females. never know what i'll get.

so if you take a swollen pod and remove it. then carefully pinch off the very tip. then roll it while lightly squeezing. the pollen will slowly work it's way out and then you can use it like a swab and dab it on the hairs to be pollinated.

i am applying it to my preflowers. as soon as i see a hair i pollinate it. the sooner the better. i hope to have seeds ready to plant before the fall. i'm not sure if i'll make it but i'll have seeds for the winter anyway.

the deed is done.....
after a few days in the jar the pods have dried somewhat. i simple stick my small brush in the jar and stir it around.

my weapon is loaded..........

this is a F1 x F1 of the same strain. equaling an F2. it is a new strain i am calling "Raft" it is "hijack" lineage crossed with "trainwreck". the plant being seeded is my first F1 in flower. i don't even know what my results will be yet but i'm going for the F2. the male is purple and covered with crystals.

simply brush the hairs...

these buds were pollinated last night. you can see once pollinated the hairs start to die off. their job is done. energy will now be focused towards seed growth...

you will see the calyx start to swell. you will see a seed shape forming. then as the seed is almost finished you will see the calyx crack and part of the seed exposed.

this is my first time seeding indoors. outside it takes months for seeds to ripen. i usually seed in July for an October harvest. it will be interesting to see it happen faster.

after i carefully put the pollen on a few of the lower branches and all the little Vs turned orange which is normal yes? but it seem to have spread half way up. not many but they appeared around the same time so im wonder if im going to have a really seedy plant. which for me i dont care either way

if you are done with the pollen then what is done is done.

Does it just seed the area you hit with the brush? A little bit of spreading? What's the deal sir?
