Mineralized phosphate (bat guano)

Are not nutrients rated by weight rather than volume which is what growers, especially personal growers, use as reference?
A tablespoon of High P Bat Guano is mush heavier than a tablespoon of Alfalfa Meal as an example.

If nobody bought it they would stop mining it.

I saw a bag clearly labelled bat guano at the garden centre in Grande Prairie last time I was there. I bought EWC instead.

I only buy from amazon what I can't find from a Canadian or US business directly and have found a camera company in NY to order my part from.

Hate fads?
That is me also, if everyone stopped it with the Bat Guano, then they'd stop mining it. I don't use coir because it is shipped halfway round the planet. If people want manure, then there is plenty of it produced locally everyday. I don't see the point shipping trendy products around the world, when there are perfectly good products available locally.

If people stopped using oil they'd stop mining it too. Won't happen.
I get that some people want to be part of the solution and not the prob... And there are better things than bat guano. But it's not going to stop anything. Things will be mined and shipped whether you buy them or not.
Pointless fight imo.

People have been using it for thousands of years. I doubt that will ever change.

It isn't a fight. I just don't see the point, so don't bother.

Ya, not trying to start a fight. (I meant fight as in the fight to stop mining bat guano, not like us fighting about it.) I get both sides of the argument. I just think its funny when people contradict what their saying, especially now a days where it's easy to jump onto a hate fad. Vegans etc they all get to me. 'i dont wana eat meat it's wrong! But I want my fake meat to be flavoured like real meat'. That's a whole other thing. I'm just rambling on now.
Save the bats!

Bats gave us covid. Kill em all
Doesn't matter if you buy it or not, they will still mine and still make the same amount of products.
Can't label anything 'bat guano' in Canada. Can't buy 'bat guano' in Canada. But I can get 'mineralized phosphate.'. Lol. It's supposed to be ethically mined....but who knows.

Plus you're talking about saving the world, but buying things on Amazon?
Don't fall for hate fads.
Everything in nature, plays its role. Remove the bats, and something else will come along to fill the void. Could be much worse than bats. Remember, we used to think honey bees were expendable.
