Mini-Cabinet: Best use of space?

Which is the best option to split a cabinet:

A) Large veg/flower space and small clone space (75% veg/flower area & 25% clone area)
B) Split cabinet in half (50% veg area & 50% flower area)

What are your thoughts?

I'm not that experienced but I would imagine 50/50 would be the best bet. Since plants usually stretch during flowering, you would want to make sure your flowering portion has more vertical space than your veg portion (if possible) to compensate for the height gain. Also, you would have ample room, depending on your grow space, to train your plant for max yield. Then, your clones could go in the same half as the vegging plants, but with some kind of light shielding cover to minimize the lumens getting to them.

What size is your cab?

I made a germination area in my cab and I ripped it out half way thru my first grow. I needed the space.

You have to light seal the veg and flower area or you will have probs flowewring.

If you are going to clone from a mother you will need three spaces, veg flower and mother.

I would say to make it one space, Veg for a while then flip to 12/12. If you make it thru the first grow you will have a much better idea of your needs. You will definatly save mone. I upgraded things during my first grow. I have a shit load of extra cfl and thermometers, tubing, water pump ect.

Are you going dirt or hydro?
What kind of lights ??

You don't need a lot of space or light for 2 small mothers.

Maximize veg/flower area, you can always prune and re clone a mother.

This way you can get a perpetual grow going and have the maximum yield.

I actually was looking at your grow thread last week, sweet cabinet!!!

Mine is approx. 55" tall X 12" wide X 25" deep. Hydro, LED and CFL.
What do you think I should do with that size cabinet?

I would focus on compleating a grow and that will help you re engineer for a propetual grow if that is what you are after.

I am happy doing 6 regular seeds every three mounths. I end up with three females ( so far ) and my first grow I got around 4 oz of smokeable bud. I am hopeing for the same or more this time. I still have 3 oz left. I am about to open up the next ball jar as I have another 4 weeks until harvest.

I followed Roseman step by step and read along as I went.

My cab gets pretty full with three plants towards the end of flower. I know people grow in a pc case, I just dont know how.

Thanks for the advice, I think that is the best route, do a grow and see how it turns out.
I did want to do a perpetual grow.

Yeah if you don't want a perpetual the first shot just use the whole cab to flower.

What are you planning on using for your bucket? You could prob fit one or two five-gallon bucket in there. I have no idea on anything with hydro though but I would suggest growing one or two plants and filling up the entire box with her and possibly her sister. Not sure how to acheive that the best way hydroponically.

What ever you choose good luck man I'l be watching.

hey rb, if you are going to do a perpetual grow then how about 25% for a mother plant and take a cutting every week or every other week and use the 75% for the clones which you could put into flower as soon as they have rooted, that way ur cab will give you an abundance of good weed. :-)
