Mini Flooded tubes (Heath Style)

What’s up guys, I am jacking one of Heath Robinsons grow styles and have built a variation of his octagon grow on a smaller scale. The actual size is 40" by 40" with a 36 inch vertical space for growing. I am going vertical just as he did but with a 400w hps. The walls are covered with Refectix and aluminum tape. The actual hydro system is 3" pvc with 2" net pots. There will be 2 levels in the system and I am going to start out with only 12 plants with room to add an additional 12 later on. I am running a remote resivor system for easy nute changes and it is powered by (2) 200 gph pumps to currculate the water.

Interesting design.

I'm not sure about the placement of the sites on the lower tube, though. It doesn't really look like you gave those lower plants anywhere to go.

Lordjin, i should have staggered the holes but the bottom sites are growing pretty good. The top is wappa a full indica and the bottom is SLH which i wont do again in this set up. I have trained them to grow to the sides of the wappa so as this is the maiden voyage I am just experimenting and going to dialing in on future runs :) 4 more weeks on top and 6 on bottom so we shall see hope you stick around for the ride...

Though you still may be figuring out the best configuration for your aero tube, let me congratulate you on the build of the enclosure itself. Very handy.

Looking pretty great in there.

Now that your plants are filling out, I think I understand the theory behind placing them that way. They're intended to grow outward and towards the center to the vertical hanging bare bulb, right? Bravo.

Lordjin, yes i think that is the basic idea. this is my first run with it and i have learned A LOT for the next run.

looks good man thanks for the link if you no off thetop of your head what was the total building cost of that ...im planing on doing one with 4 stories in a bigger space and using a 600 to 1000 watt light if you have any pointers on the system id really appreceate it

In all it was less than $150 thats with every thing but the light. PVC is the most expensive and it is a major jump in price from 3" to 4"

Dry numbers are in guys I pulled down a little more than 9oz. 3.5 of slh and a littl over 5.5 of wappa! next run starts Sunday :) all wappa!
