i always wondered what kind of yield a plant gets with them saying you switched to flower at 20 " height

Well, that all depends on what kind of training you've done, strain you have, etc...but generally, bigger = more yield, if you have the light to take care of the big plants. My Ice plants are up around 16" right now, bigger than I usually veg them, and will be close to 20" by the time I switch to 12/12. I'm waiting on these bagseeds to get done, as well as doing some "bending"(a form of LST I like to use), to get a bunch of main colas, before I throw them on 12/12. Won't be long though, a week or so. Maybe I'll create a mini-journal, and document their flowering progress...

On my last run with Ice, trained the same way, they yielded 3-4 ozs each,(dried) flowered at 12". Should be getting 6 ozs average, off these, especially if I step up to 1000 watts, instead of my 600 HPS.

i should reprase my question meaning how big do the buds get to when useing them lights i got 8000 watts and tops are turning into 2 litre bottles and i use 6500K for cloneing but as summer is coming my indoor switches to out door and was thinking just putting a few under 6500 and in flower
But wondering would it be just a waste of time

Good job, cool test!

A 3 way test would be awesome - only 5000k, only 6500k, and a mix of 50/50 5000k/6500k. I'd put my money on the mixed spectrums!

Sorry to bump this from its several month slumber, but I'm with f8youthmidman. I was wondering if you had any follow up observations jawbrodt?
I am looking to purchase some used 4ft T5 fluoros that currently have 5000k HO bulbs in them. Was thinking maybe leave 2 bulbs, and buy some 6400Ks and have a 50/50 split? Or do a 3/1 split? Sounds like maybe there would be some benefit to that strategy
