Minimizing grow to optimize lights ?

I'm currently vegging 17 plants. 10 are about 2.5 weeks old and 7 are about a week and a half old. I've got 10-12 Superior plants that have just taken off so much better than the others. Im thinking of just getting rid of 5-7 plants that I don't see making any drastic changes. My question is will this in the end optimize my two 400w mhs to yield more from the ten plants. I know that regardless of # of plants I would expect right below of a pound after dried. Light coverage isn't too big of an issue but I think that I would rather have my lights being used by the plants that are showing the best signs of growth. So my question is should I find a new home for the few plants that are slacking just go ahead and keep them and hope for the best ?

does no one have an answer ?
It just depends on how the lagging plants look. If you keep them you could have a more genetic variability later. But if they are in veg - dont kill them!! The lagging plants are probably your females (unless you said they were clones?). Either way I'm sure you'll be fine. If they are all female I personally would probably kill the slower growers and take clones of the superior plants.

Your thinking correctly, grow space is the most valueable aspect of the grow & shouldnt be jam packed, every grow i pull out slow clones or plants from seed that are not growing or budding as fast as the rest,i like to harvest all my plants within a few days of each other & get a new grow going, not waste time on a few straggelers.

Pull the slow plants & concentrate on the fast plants, the fast plants are the ones you'll want to cut clones from.

I think every grower on this forum could use another few inches of properly light grow space, why waste what you have, or take away from healthy fast growing plants, just to save a few slow motion plants, you'll yeild just as much or more by allowing the fast plants more light than keeping the others.

keep the plants off to the side where the dim light and scum bags hang ..................you know like at the corner where you see the halfway lit street light. That way you can have a little more to toke on or whatever right
To throw away would only suggest that you really don't like growing and to ask that question! I don't think there are many growers that would ask such a question since they are fems......
and oh by the way you need HPS FOR A GREAT YIELD but since you'll have a LB it won't really matter best of luck mate.

They are all female dumster clones. It isn't that I don't like the grow Im just trying to be as EFFICIENT as possible with the lights I have . First off I would never just throw out a good female, I would just simply find a friend who would be tickled to death to have them. I have thought about just sitting them to the side but that isn't a solution. I think my problem was I asked a question that the respond could only be an opinion. I just figured instead of getting a quarter zip from a plant let the light and space be used to flower the larger plants full term. Has anyone had any experience with dumpster? My mother came from a buddy who was strickly hydro. I used soil as a medium last year and the got fawking HUGE. So this is why I'm going indoor with soil.

Personally if they are all females - keep em. I shed a tear for everyone I have to put down - even the males. But I will have a beer to celabrate their lives(the only good part about having males)......
