Minimum # of Fan Leaves per Branch....

Hi RIU.
Currently day 12 of flowering. Last night I removed all my lower branched not recieving any light,(about 4-5 branches)and was wondering would I be able to trim like 1/3 more fan leaves off the lower levels to bring more light in?
Reason i ask is I've seen some nicely trimmed plants with only the top 3-4 fan leaves per branch and everything below was removed. Sound about right or am I just high? Thanks

You do have a good amount of fans. Thing is, those fan leaves do way more photosynthesizing and food storage than those little sugar leaves that you will be exposing by removing the fans. I don't necessarily endorse Jorge, but it seems a ton of people here do, so heres what he says.

If you can't get air through there because its so thick, then I would remove a select few. Other than that, let it be. Good luck.

I find that Jorge is less and less believable.

There are many, including myself that have experienced great success with defoliation.

basically, if a leaf is two weeks old, it gets cut. (that is the reader's digest version)

See part of me was feeling i could do without majority of the fan leaves if a nice handleful per branch still stayed. It's just to freakn bushy lol

I trimmed a few that were blocking light from getting to potential tops/bud sites....didn't really wanna do that but I figured it was a good sacrifice to get direct light to those tops...a little trimming here n there doesn't hurt the plant but I wouldn't go Edward scissor hands on her...
