well over was the term I used, because it is dependent on year. FY 2012/13 was over $200K. If the tender I've bid for comes through, I won't be on here much next year.

400k mortgage and combined with your girlfriend you make 100k? That means you signed a no-doc loan with your income. And unless you put way more than 20% down, you did not get that loan, and therefore are lying through your teeth.

My dads best mate owns a brokerage firm, their parents came to Australia on the same boat in the '60s.

10% down in this country, I also took advantage of the first homebuyers grant, with my brother as an addition co-sign

no need to get so defensive, nothing wrong with laying down the lighting guy's cables.

it's just that since australia's minimum wage is $16.88 an hour, you don't really make all that much more than minimum wage.

thus, it is hard for me to believe that you are doing any sort of skilled labor.
