Miracle Gro Question

I am on my first soil grow and using a neutral soil mix (no nutes). I am on a low budget and am using Miracle Gro water soluble plant food.

I'm curious what type of MG would be best for vegging, and flowering. Also if anyone has used MG, what dilutions have you used successfully? I've heard 1/4 of the recommended dosage is the most you'd want to try, starting out at least. Any experiences either good or bad would help. Thanks.

The nutes are not suitable to grow with. You can use MG soil but only the Moisture control soil any of thier others do not work well and will cause issues. Use the MG moisture control soil and water with ph water at 7. Keep the water at 7. Do not add nutes for 2 months then can go to bloom nutes like bat guano, worm castings or something like Fox Farm big bloom and tiger Bloom. This is a topic covered many times on the forums so you can search the words Miracle grow and find many threads explaining even more. Do not waste money on MG nutes or any of there soil except Moisture control.Good luck

I always love when someone asks a question and says they are on a budget people always tell them to go out and spend a bunch of money. You can use Miracle grow, use the all purpose during veg and the ultra bloom during flowering. Miracle grow is strong stuff so yes, do something like 1/4 - 1/2 the strength to be safe. I wouldn't use it, but since you are on a budget it will be fine. In the future I am sure you will improve how you do things and you will find out junk soil and miracle grow are not the way to grow Marijuana well and changing a few minor things makes all the difference.

Good Luck on your Grow

Miracle Grow fertilizers works fine and have seen some very good grows using there products. There fertilizers are very HOT though and can burn plants fairly easily. Use less than there recommended amounts and you'll do fine. Take notes of how much your using and if you start seeing any signs of overfertilizing or nute burn, flush and use less. Also always water first so the soil is wet before watering again with the nutes. That really helps keep the fertilizers from burning roots.

I have been doin a soil grow for about a year using the 2 different Miracle grow types mentioned above. The results have been OK considering everything. I have just built a hydro system and started using Botanicare nutes. I am sure my harvests will at least triple in the same space. All I can say is do what you can afford for now, and when it becomes possible, upgrade and enjoy even more bud.

Zach guess your taLking to me. I guess a budget to me means about $50-60 bucks as for $38 you can get the 3 botles of Foxa Farm nutes which will last a few grows and could then even add some sugar daddy for another $15 so a full set of nutes designed to grow and a flavor and resin enhancer. If your under a $50 budget then use wal mart soil and a cfl and get that 1/2 oz for 3-4 months work. Toi MyGirls well im glad MG helps you but from your pictures I see a ton of other items your using that are not MG. You use that other stuff like the guano, and the Bot nutes? Your soil seems to not be MG soil either so technically your not doing an MG grow but using it as a light nute suppliment big difference. I am saying a pure MG grow doesnt work and from my own expirements and if you look about 200 other threads and journels you will find a lot of similar results. I use only MG moisture control when I use soil for my moms as it makes a great longterm mommy soil with its excellent Ultra high nitrogen content so no need to feed you just absaolutly have to use ph 7 water. 6.5 or 7.5 and your done. its a hot vwery touchy soil and for a new grower on a budget where they cant spend $50 its a bad option. Would be better with black top soil, perlite and neptunes fish nutes availiable at home depot, lowes, menards and Ace hardware

for veg you want a High N food. When you see the NPK that is nitrogen phosphorous and potassium. Nitrogen is for veg. Phosphourous is for flower. Potassium is needed all around. To give you an idea I use things like alaska fish emulsion and that has an NPK of 5-1-1. I also use Blue Mountain Organics that is awesome organic we all swear by in the organic section, lol, that has complete nutes avalable for 25$!!! Google ebay for Super Plant Tonic. That will get you to their eBay company. They are hard to find on eBay, the only place they sell. That will get you a bacterail stimulant, veg power and flower power and a freakin foliar feed. It is great. It will last several grows. I can not think how to get a better cheaper pack of ferts. Only on eBay. Hippie shit from the ozarks.

My girls I cant beleive you use such high NPK ferts. I have seen your grows. Cool. I am organic and loivng my 7 gallon bags.

Using MG liquid all purpose for veg right now and going to switch to FF TB and BB for flower. The MG has been pretty good so far and I use the dosage listed on the bottle with no nute burn and nice green leaves

with that much N, I bet. Too much N can delay flower and make for an overly developed, i guess i would say, plant.

My Girls you seem to miss the discussion. What Miracle Grow soil are you using that references this conversation as you pictured a non MG soil in your pictures and just showed MG nutes in a box as we are discussing the MG soils?

but we meant the soils. The soils carry the MG in it which is what I was using for my expirence as I have done about a dozen test grows and comparison on here to show how touchy it is fro the soils whiuch contaions thier MG nutes so maybe it is different if you can cut the nutes way back and monitor it real close but I still find MG makes a high leaf to caylax ration compared to any other nutes designed for this kind of growing. My main point is advise agaist them for a beginner and if you got the $40 you should just get the correct controllable nutes

Myself and Dirtclean. Geez I said it makes the plants leafy which is does please search my threads from last year several hundred pictures showing it side by side using the same clones, same lights and different nutes. You said no it didnt but you jumped in assuming that comment was made for the original liquid nutes question so basically you skipped the response to my post about MG nutes in thier own MG soil making high leaf ratios from high nitrogen which is a scientific fact that i reproduced and showed. Im glad you like the MG liquid nutes but I will have to go look at your grows to see what kind of leaf to caylax production you got and compare it to your pictures of your same plants with othere nutes so i can see what you based your findings on as I assume your not telling me MG doesnt make a leafier plant without having at least done a side by side with same clones and different nutes. Again would I having used MG soils and nutes for experimentation along comparison to at least 8 designed nutes as a good choice to use say yes I reccomend it I would not especially if it iks a new grower as it is not a readily usable nute but worse case scenario can be used. I will go look and see your side by side comparison grows and if it shows that your MG plants are no more leafy then your other nute grows I will come back and state your correct and have shown your proof to make such a strong statement. As I have shown all of what i am basing my comments on several times

not at allcuz my bloom nutes have no nitregon in them just P and K.

That may be true. I meant that in veg an abundance of N will delay flower when you flip to all P and K nutes for flower. Like it has stored so much up it takes a while to switch.:) But you got a system so I dont knock it.

Have you tried organics? Some awesome results. I am only on my first soil grow, but I am loving it.

No probs at all though for you with N def in flower? Do you mean your plants just have enough stored up? Cool, newver heard that perspective.

I N nuted some lr2 and they missed flower for up to 8 weeks, I pulled 'em.
