Miracle Gro With Moisture Control - Durban Poison and Mystery Strain

Hey everybody. This is my first attempt at growing ANYTHING. I ordered 10 Durban Poison seeds and recieved 20 random seeds. When I started this about 3 weeks ago I had some crap happen that caused me to get my seeds mixed up so now I can only guess which are the Durban Poison plants. I have made many mistakes this first go around, but so far they are all alive, though some of them are hanging on for dear life. I am on a budget so I decided to make the best out of Miracle Gro Moisture Control. I started off the first week watering WAY too much and I have had all kinds of tramatic things come about that I am sure will make way for many hermies or male...I hope not though. LIke I said, I have made many mistakes and am just now trying to get things squared away as I have learned lots in the past few weeks...biggest lesson was not to try so many plants at one time! I really didn't think they all would germinate though...glad they did, but at the same time, wow....got in over my head. I am researching some ways to prepare for the smell. I gotta run, but will post some updated pics in a bit after this darn windows 7 finishes installing. Cheers.

I would lose the MG soil to be honest, if you plan on using any other nutes and this is ur first time growing anything I gurantee it will end badly. However, if you decide just to use the MG soil by itself you may be able to have no problems... But remember you are dealing with a very unpredictable medium. MG has the time release Ferts.. Look at my grow, about 5 weeks into flowering MG burned me up bad :/

From now on I will use Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Anyway you go this is an awesome, rewarding hobby. Take care mate. :leaf:

Wow, my first reply. I finally learned how to post a thread...thanks man! Ya know, I think MG has caught a bad wrap...my plants have suffered lots of abuse and they are still ticking. I have found that I need to water more to keep from nutrient burn, or maybe, it isn't even nutrient burn? Anyways, checking out your pics now. Thanks bro.

yea, I have heard that fox farm and farfa (however it is spelled) is good stuff...unfortunately, I need to stick to the lower cost soils for now. I really hope my babies survive. Thanks for the reply man. Much appreciation to all who keep giving me tips. It really is an awesome hobby. Bringing these things to life is awesome.

That's what I did and 5 weeks into Flowering I started noticing Nute burn. Was the Moisture Control formula, maybe the MG organic is different?

When people say "Nutes" does this simply refer to any type of fertz? The only thing I have so far is Miracle Gro Tomato Plant food. I haven't used it yet. I am about to post updated pictures. Taking a few shots right now. Think you could give me a round about time of when you think I should start the fert? I started germinating about 20 days ago. Some of these were started about 17 days ago. I had a bad situation happen that caused them to all get knocked over (shelf broke) and I literally scraped them up by hand and through them back in anything I could find to get them back in soil...in other words I spazzed out. These plants have been through hell. They look really bad huh? Taking pics now.

OH, I didn't realize everytime I water they were getting nutes...I had thought it best to water MORE because of all the nutes. I've flushed the hell out of these things several times. Great tip man. Thanks.
