So i had read many post saying that MG organic soil was absolute shit.
I wanted to try it for myself, and the result so far are amazing.
Within the first night my seed(fresh out of germination) had grown rapidly.

at first i was skeptical, the soil was very dark and looks like it would retain water a little too much, i mixed it up with 2parts Mg organic choice gardening soil, 1part Mg perlite.

Now just because it worked for me doesn't mean everyone should do this, most of the people who have tried it end up with bad results, ill post pics further throughout the grow to see if my results from begining to end are conclusive.
Keep and eye out if you'd like.

discuss.

Here is my take on MG and all the other commercial dirts. Its like standing at the drink machines at walmart...do you spend the extra .25 for a coke or do you buy the shitty wal mart version of coke? They are both cold, they both quench your thirst. One tastes like shit and leaves an aftertaste and the other tastes great.

MG works as does Scott's, Hyponex etc... but those soils are more built for veggies. I did a thread on growing tomatos in MG, FF OF, Coco and the MG BLEW them away. No nute deficiencies for the MG but the coco and fox farms tomatos were nasty looking plants and I found myself chasing the nute formula to make them green. THIS IS EXACTLY what happens when we grow MJ in MG. We chase nutes and everything else it takes to make our plants green. It all has to do with the time released nutes and shit. I will say that once you make it through the first few weeks, things seem to straighten out but its that initial seedling period that sets up the grow and personally I like mediums and nutes that are designed for what I am growing.

I have done complete grows with MG and it worked :hump: but I know of much better ways and mediums now. Older and wiser :weed:

i definately see what your saying. Though MG products are NOT for out purpose they will do the job, as is the case with many other soils. FFOF is the best stuff out there if soil is the way to go, I'm quite confident that in the coming weeks i will be on the plant help section, whining about discoloration in my plants or slow growth, a number of things could and in most probability will.
But thats what im here to do, grow and learn bongsmilie

Just dont add any nutes for the first month and you should be ok. There are a bazillion successful grows using MG and hopefully yours will be good too :hump:
