There I was asking myself why the fuck did my yields drop so hard after I changed nutrients to GHE or Terra Aquatica as they are known now.

I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was wrong, I even bought a cheap ec meter and figured it was broken and not reliable in the slightest.

I caused a million problems as a result of trying to change so many factors, which I don't regret because soon it will be exactly as I imagined it.

But here's the thing, the one thing I never even thought of was that I wasn't adding enough nutrients because there were some visable inconsistencies that pointed in the other direction.

I even figured out that my ph pen was broken while scratching my head for solutions.

Earlier however, I finally tried BlueLab's Truncheon and what it showed was that despite adding full nutes as shown on the label (the absolute max that I've ever seen anywhere) I was not adding enough nutrients especially now that the plants are in coco.

I am sure after I recieve the ph soil tester I'll find out that all this time, too much nutrients was not the problem... ph of the medium will almost certainly be the cause of almost all my problems. Of course along with environment that has now been worked on and will be further improved soon and the fact that I have at least a thrip infestation, if not something more insidious considering that I think there are two half eaten leaves in there.

Personally I would go with their PH Soil meter. It's a bit more expensive than the PH pen but it can give you accurate results for your root zone PH and can also be used for nutrient solutions. The probe is also replaceable so long term it will be cheaper than getting a new pen every time the probe wears out. JMO

You can read liquids just fine with the soil pH pen.

Just never trust those cheap soil pH meters with the analog gauge and long thin metal probe, they are way off the mark.

If you are talking about 2 versions of soil meter, one is the pen and the other a handheld device with a probe on a cable, then right now there are both versions on ebay at the same price.
