Mites 8 days left budding

Ok I'm hip to the might wash for mites. I believe u can use it up to last day of harvest also. I have right around 8 days or so left in flower so I am thinking that I can strip all the plants of their main leaves?

The only reason I want to strip the big leaves now is to stop them fuckers from touching my next crop due in 2 more weeks. I have just noticed them last night and m.wash the plants once. I will re spray the others in a day.

Do u think the plants final product would be the same if I take off all the fan leaves from the plants that are finished in 8 days?

Is this that Far fetched to do? No one has had to or wanted to just strip the fan leaves that are infected.

Well I'll press my luck and strip the fan leaves off and the worst case is lol I don't know. Best case I'll have less trimming to do when I harvest.

Lol good looking out though

Do not spray your plants that close to budding, you will end up with mold. Do NOT strip off shade leaves, they are your buds source of energy and food.

I would use hotshot no pest strips. Get a fan and a timer. Set the timer to run while your lights are off. Put another timer on your exhaust fan.

Put the hotshots in front of the fan.
An hour or two after your lights go out have the exhaust fan click OFF.
At the same time the exhaust turns off, have the timer click on and run the fan, blowing across the hotshots.
1 hour before the lights come back on, have the exhaust come back on and the 'hotshot' fan turn off

This will steep your room for 10 or so hours with the hotshots. This will kill all adult mites. I would run this system for four days.

The last four days just let them go. The main ingreedient in the Hotshot no pest strips is Dichlorvos, which is used in the food industry to keep grain silo's bug free. This chemical has a half life of a few hours and is completely gone in three days. By the time you harvest, there will be no traces of the Dichlorvos left on your plants.

They will keep coming back and become a years long headache unless you use Forbid 4f. I have tried every mite cure under the sun and this is the only one that kills the eggs and mites AND does it through the leaves. You only have to spray it on the tops of the leaves and it kills everything and keeps killing for about 6 weeks.

When your next crop is vegetating, spray them with the forbid 4f and you will be mite free for the rest of the crop. Forbid 4f is made for ornamentals, so do NOT use it during the budding stage.

I battled mites for a couple years until I discovered forbid 4f. Since using it, I have not seen a single mite and I only apply it once a crop and only to the tops of the leaves. It is amazing shit and the ONLY miticide that kills the eggs and mites. Just before I flip them I apply it to all the plants. A few weeks into budding, I shut off the fans and spray the floor between the pots.

Problem solved.

You can buy forbid 4f in tiny amounts on ebay, one ML makes a GALLON which will last you a year. I bought 4 ML that came with a 1 ml pipette for measuring a couple years ago and I am still on the first gallon. Best $20 I have ever spent

Suprised I am to see someone here who knows the truth about Hotshot Pest Strips . Most people frown on then due to there own ignorance or listening to others .. I have used them a few times to eradicate mites on plants as well as Reptiles ... This will not be found in a test if you care to test your med , the Dichlorvos breaks down in time and dissipates rapidly ..

As stated above its used in the food Industry as well

Forgot to note if infested when harvesting its wise to use tanglefoot or vaseline on the cut stems and hang it all on a line that is covered in this as well .. Mites will move up the hanging buds as they wilt and get stuck and suffocate .. If you just hang infested plants the little fuckers will spin webs and slide down and move towards the next living plant .........

It's crazy you took so long to write up a post full of terrible advice!

If you have 8 days left then by all means take off the fan leaves it won't make one bit of difference and will remove probably 80% of your mites. Mighty wash is perfectly fine to use up to harvest and I'd also recommend alternating it with jalapeño pepper spray. Here in cali i can soak a plant the day i harvest and not worry about mold, because i actually do rinse my plants like a vegetable. then swing it around till the water quits coming off, hang and dry as normal. I would never recommend to anyone putting something on their plants made for ornamentals. Jesus it kills for 6 weeks and you don't even have to spray under the leaves? What part of that sounds like a good idea?!

If grown properly them fan leaves should be almost dead anyway with 8 days left. And the food industry puts all kinds of shit in "food" that's suppose to be safe yet we find cancer sky rocketing ,believe me their not one's to trust. If OMRI has a problem with it,then there's a a good chance it has a lot of caustic chemicals in it.I'll pass on it as well.Lot of ways to deal with mites but only a few right ways!

Op mighty wash is awesome it does not effect the taste of the crop one bit. I have used it 3 days before a pull.

Rinse anything you spray on them with water 12-24hrs after application. I really kinda just pulled that out of my ass but thats what I like to do. I feel it helps rinse the residual pesticide and dead bugs off. I have no facts to support my opinion.

I also have been reading about a product called NO SPIDER MITES. It advertises no taste, no aroma, no harsh chemicals, no need for protective gloves or mask, use up to the day of harvest, kills spider mites and their eggs it 6-15 sec, non-toxic

www.greenwaynutrients.com

I have never tried this but it sounds good. I will try to get some more info on it via research and the forum. Will post back.
Im also going to order myself a bottle.

u scared me with that one. i used mighty wash 3 weekd ago and i didnt wash shit off.

LOL just because im a feak and I have a hound nose. After spraying the mighty wash I could smell it in my room the next day so I rinsed it. No other reason then that. Really I can still smell it in there. But it didn't effect the final product in anyway. I have used neem oils and they will taint the flowers.

I used doktor doom also late in flower and it did not effect the final product. I fogged near a high volume fan and blew the stuff in the room instead of putting the fogger right in the room. It worked great. Mighty wash says it kills eggs also. Pyrethrum's do not and that is why I moved to mighty wash. Also bugs can build a resistance to pyrethrum. And not mighty wash. Doktor doom leaves no residual's, no smell, and no bad taste on the final product. Everyone is scared of pyrethrum because they think it is a toxic chemical but it is comes from Chrysanthemum flower and is natural. Pyrethrum breaks down to nothing in a matter of hours; exposed to, light, wind, or humidity.

Hopefully that was informative.

Well I used the mighty wash 3 or so days before harvest and removed the fan leaves. There was no bad effects on the plant or the taste of the buds.

From my experience. That close to harvest there is no issues with stripping the fan leaves off no I'll effects to the bud or plant...

I would strip the leaves again if I had to

Just my 2 cents

Thanks all
