mixed views on meters

so i need a ph meter very very soon. i heard from a master grower that hanna and milwaukee suck and you get what you pay for. but those were 40-50 bucks.i found this cheap hanna meter for 26.should we buy this or is it a must to buy an expensive better brand? i used a hanna before and it worked great for the months i had it, but then the idiot neighbor and i dropped it into the water and ruined it. was only 60 too.

if that one sucks then here is the link to meters between 40-80
please pick one that you think is the best out of that price range.

should we buy the cheap one so we can use it asap until we can afford to buy the bluelab truncheon meter that is $140? is the hanna one a waste of money or will it work reliably for a lil bit?

iv got bluelab truncheon but it only does e.c and ppm no ph i use a ph meter thats £45 and works fine.

i also use a £500 ph meter at work and have compared them and there was about 0.5 to 0.8 of a differance.

I have a milwaukee ph56. I have never had a problem and its pretty accurate. Just calibrate it every so often and make sure you always keep the prob wet.

Oakton 100%

you can get the ph one for $50 if you look hard enough. They are meant to be disposable(non replaceable probe) (say they only last 1 year) ..I've had mine for over 2. Batteries go out about every 6 months with daily use. Solid product.

also I've never had to calibrate it. It reads 7.0 and 4.0 solution on the dot with no calibration after 2 years.
