Mixing nutes

What is the basics to mixing nutes? Do u ph after u mix them with the water? Or do u ph them seperately? Also when it says mix 15 ml per a gallon, does that mean per the container it's going in? Like if u have a plant in a 3 gallon container u would put in 45ml of nutes?

First, never put the full dosage of nutrients until you know how the plants will react. I typically start at 1/4 strength and go from there, but you could probably do 1/2 strength as well. It means per the amount of water you intend to mix with, not the volume of the plant's pot if that is what you are wondering.

To mix the nutrients, do them one at a time mixing the water really well between each nutrient added. After you are done mixing in your nutrients, ph the water. You want it around 6.5 for a good number. A little higher or lower isn't a problem. Adjust as needed with ph-up or ph-down.

If you start to see any nutrient burn, flush the plants with twice the volume of water that your plant's pot can hold. You will have a ton of water so do this in a bath tub or outdoors.

Hope that helps. Take care and best of luck. Happy growing.

Dude you're so patient to have written all that. I would've just called him an idiot and moved on.

Haha well, we need both kinds of people in the world to keep the balance bro. Mother Teresa was probably patient too lol

You never know who you could help, some threads get buried and hard to find so this puts the info out front for any new people to the forum. I found it most helpful when I began so I figured I would return what I took. I don't type too slow either ;) No harm.

You're welcome itsahobby.

Can seem to get my ph dialed in, I'm using Bmo Nutes, and using the cheap Gh kit with the vile and dye. Where I'm at it calls for 15 ml of nutes per gallon of water. Now my question is do I just point that in a full gallon of spring water, take no water out? How long is that bottle good for ? I don't give my plants that whole gallon do I? Should I bubble it first, is there a way I can store that? Just don't want to overwater and overnute? I'm in one gallon containers now

If you're in one gallon containers you will probably use 1/4 to 1/2 gallon of water per plant. Do not mix the full 15ml, start with 5ml per gallon as a safe zone and go up from there once you have determined your plants tolerance for the nutrients. When you mix the nutrients in the water, one at a time and mix them thoroughly before you add another. There is no need to store nutrient mixtures, so just keep them in their bottles until they are ready for mixing because your amount will fluctuate. You want to mix the nutrients in the water and when you water do it the same as if you were just watering without nutrients...until you begin to have runoff all around your container, but not too much. If you experience nutrient burn (probably the day after watering if it happens), flush the plants with 2 gallons of plain water. Hope that helps.
