I reading the security section of the regulation again. It stated, we needed intrusion system and a visual monitor system...

However it say the system needed to be monitored by personnel at all time..

Is there security company that will do 24 hrs video monitor at a reasonable cost? If not that will sucks really badly as you needed someone there all time.

Lots of good stuff here. Been through all this and have come to the same spot most of you are at now.
From my understanding, cameras will only need to record any "incident" which would then need to be kept on file for two years.

Read up on the entire article for security. It is dependant on if you're within 100km of a major city. It depends how much product you will carry at maximum(valuing cannabis at $10,000 a kg)

Most small ops near a city will fall into a category 7 security which requires:
A safe or vault. we will go with safe since constructing a vault is a much more tedious and expensive route. The safe needs to have a motion sensor underneath it. The safe needs to be in a caged area. The alarm panel needs to be in the safe. The safe needs to be 3' from any walls.

Zoning is easy- from the lowermainland BC. Burnaby- industrial and light industrial. Richmond is only agricultural. Delta is both. Just call your local zoning office and ask them straight up.

We can and will develop a business relationship among all small commercial growers for lobbying and assisting each other.

The regulations for security were written well before the MMPR. Health Canada just has not bothered to reassess the value of controlled substances.

I'd be retired by now if it was 10k Try 3200 a kg market value if that.

1400 a pound? That's half of what it is around here, unless it's bought in multiple pounds, but still...ouch....

Don't worry about the big guys, there are lotsa smaller wine producers because the big guys cant hold the quality or speciallize in the ever changing tastes. Just think how hard and how much time it took to get as good as you are at one variety. Add to this to the fact that the larger your crop the more the problems become exponential. Growing large scale well is extremely difficult, take it from a journeyman production horticulturist. The large scale growers will get an 8 outa 10 and sell there medicine last, who's gonna buy from Prairie Plant Systems? High quality, organic medicine. You get none of this in large production. On top of that there is no advertising. All the money in the world can't buy organic quality for a large scale operation. Large scale equals pesticides and lower quality.

prairie uses radiation too lol. The only problem i was thinking about a small operation is that the govt will nickle and dime you so bad it wont be worth it. But no one can tell whats gonna happen anyway
