hey mogie u seem to be very good at growing will this setup be good for fast vegatation a T5 4 bulb one with grow lights. With 45 watt cool white Cfl's i will have 6 of them aimed on both sides of my plants with a reflector around them a metal one the T5 4 sock grow light with grow bulbs in them covering the tops of my plants i will have carboard box around this hole setup with mylar on the inside reflecting it and a small fan blowing on all the plants i will have 5-10 plants vegging at a time

It aint enough, if the T5 is a 4', thats only 20000 lumens if its a 2' that only 12000. a 400wat hps is 50000, you need to get real close to that number to do that many plants. I think the T-5's may be a good choice, just more of them. They cost more upfront to buy, but cost less to operate, and heat isnt as much of a problem either, so you can place them closer.
I have a 430 watt hps, thats 53000 lumens and I need more light, (I strated with ten plants too) I want to add a couple 4', T-5's in an attempt to avoid the heat issue and save on electrc too.
For vegging you may be ok, atleast for a couple weeks with that setup, but to go thru flower, no way.

it i just wanted a good veg set up to give me a good steady grow rate i don't like really slow grouth for flowering im going to get a flower system way better planning on spending like 1grand on lights for flower

a grand? Dude, I wanna be the one selling you lights! A 1000 watt hps is only about 250.00 or better yet, two 430 watters, only $119.00 each. I dont know where you shop, but find a new vendor.

what do u mean by rethink? toke help me out any advise or anything u can say will help. video can u send me a websit link cuzz i live in cali so no local hydroponic shops lol i found a 400watt hps light system with reflector and everything then a air cooled thing to add on so i can have it closer to the plants for additional 150 and then i gotta pay shipping for all this and im prob going to have atleast 2 of those then buying mylar and fan's and all of that stuff

check the phone book. i'm in cali and there is a grow store on every corner. just a thought. i spent 600$ on my 600w set up. hood, light ballast, fan, flex tubing, mylar, nutes...........

yea see so 1grand won't be that much for what i eventually want my garden to be wich is 5-10 plants and ima have it so ima always have 5-10 plants going at a time that 1light the 400watt one with shipping to cali is 150 something i can get it alittle bit cheaper on InsideSun.com 120 for 400watt hps with reflector ballast bulb wires and all that idk what it's going to add up to with shipping tho

Where you are you have a much better selection then I do. You will pay more for the t5 up front but it is a wise investment. It is quiet (no noisy ballast), you can adjust the lights, and it saves you money. I can see someone paying a lot for there flowering light. With all the goodies that go with it (shipping, fans, pulleys, cords, ballast, etc.). I have always been told if you are going to go big go big on the flowering light. Just my opinion

I'd definately go with the hps if its affordable, get whatver the best for whatever you can afford, I'd put the emphasis on lighting for the flowering period though as this is where you want your plants to be doing their best.

As for costs growing can be as expensive or as inexpensive as you want it to be, the list for things you want or could have or use is endless. The more you put in though the more you get out.
