I have seen great results in pure Perlite, so I agree that it is not so much the medium as it is the gardener. If you like to water often, you will like sandy soils, if you like to let them dry out slowly then you will like loamy soils. I have been growing veggies in bagged organic soil for six years. Then I mix it in to my clay soil to loosen it up. Last year the big plants grew in the clay that had six years worth of used veggie soil added and was amended with bone meal and blood meal.

Thanks for the reassurance my friends! As far as watering is concerned, I'm in eastern Canada so nature takes care of it for me ;) I think I manually watered only once of twice last year and it was a hot summer... My male Mandala #1 grew to almost 9 feet!

Here is today's tour of the garden.

I have almost finished the second blueberry cage. I spent yesterday building most of it and then I had to shop for a new staple gun and some angled tin snips. The top screen is temporary until I can build the lid for top access. It is still a little high but it will get lowered when I clear away the grass.

The berries in the other cage are looking good :)

I finally transplanted the Beststeak Tomato out of the #7 smartie and in the ground where the Malawi was last year.

I am going to get some MJ seeds in starters tonight :)

love the avitor cooter!!!:)

Mo, I need you to come round and build me some of those cages, they would be perfect for light deprivation. (I have been thinking about that for my outdoor this year). So when you are free let me know?:)
Loving those avocados, very jealous I am. And that sure is a pimped out greenhouse.

Peace, DST

Wow! Amsterdam, The Big Island, and Ontario. Isn't that a nice slice of the grow world :) Thanks!

KC - I am trying man. This is a weird year. I still have not put half of my plants in the ground yet. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I am feeling a little better now that my blueberries are not disappearing any more.

Coot! I am honored :) Welcome. I just got a line on some HI Red hair clones - very excited.

DST - Booking the flight as we speak. Do you think the airline will accept hash as payment?

OK - so I showed the Green Crack and Malawi brittle to my cat and he seemed aloof about the whole thing. Then I sat down and was watching TV and I had the goodies in my lap where I just kept smelling them - mmmmmmm.

Here comes my cat. He jumps up on my lap and settles in like he is just going to hang out for a while (unusual behavior for him). Then he bends his head back and starts gingerly grabbing at the Malawi brittle with his mouth playfully. I say no and pull it away from him and he settles back down. Next thing I know he whips hi head around and takes a big bite of the package! I got it away from him and he ran to the couch and started licking his hash coated fangs!

Here is what the package looks like:

That is the tale of the hash vampire cat :)

Bahahahaha, that's hilarious. Oh man Mo, me and my buddy are rolling in trim right now! I have my drying rack stacked thick right now with Malawi.

It was fresh frozen at harvest and I had to take it out of the freezer the other day because I ran out of room. I put it out in the sun room for two days and mixed it around so it would dry out. I am glad you have it now :) How does it smell?

The Malawi extract is amazing! Smells just like old school chocolate Thai! Great job!

Did you open the flower packs yet? There is some December Mulanje in there that is soooo sticky :)

Have fun!

The Sativa plants were still going strong in December but the weather was too cold for them to thrive. They were going to get bigger and better if they would have had the chance. The pictures still make me happy :)
