I was very leery about the crappy hangers on the kessil spinner. I almost made a modification by screwing brackets to the housing. Should have trusted my gut:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Omg i would send that picture to kessil. i bet they will send you free stuff. wow those type of hangers are used on 150 hps not made for heavy stuff. i would have flipped on kessil about their hangers.
Yes with only minor damage. It is amazing that there wasn't more carnage to the lights, plants and spinner:

Murphy's Law saw an opening and took it.

Mo, can you open the Spinner case without voiding the warranty and screw some eyebolts through those holes where the hooks went? Then you could clip carabiners or screw some shackles into the eyebolts.

i would bend it more so there is no way it can come out again
Murphy's Law saw an opening and took it. i put zip tie through hole and around hanger and secure it so it wont come out again unless he cuts the zip tie.

What the hell happened??? Its not like the spinner got to mouch inertia and spun itself silly lol, can tell by how slow those things spin jn the youtube vid... slower than snails screw i tell ya.
So you gonna mod it and say screw it or give those guys at kessil an earful and hope it doesnt happen again? Not very impressed considering that product has been out for a while, this can not be the first time something like this has happened. I think bending off the hangers or sticking a bolt with a nut so you can clip it are decent ideas as stated above.

The hangers are definitely not the same caliber of engineering as the other spinner parts. I think they also could have come up with some better mounting options for the lights and the power supplies. Shorter power cords with 90 degree plugs would also help with cord management. I am going to see if there are any cool cord options on the web.

The eye bolt option sounds good. I just need to see if the housing can be easily removed. I was thinking about using pop rivets to hold a bracket in place. Then I won't need to open the housing.

the cord you can cut it and add a new plug so its right length. i think the money you paid they should have supplied shorter cords and a better hanging system. i feel your pain i know you spent allot of money. i still love the whole concept and still want to see them grow.

Top came off easy - four screws. The hooks are heavy gauge so I needed my channel locks to bend them. Easy peasy :)

Got the cords better managed and ready to try again. I will pick up some chain from the depot and am ordering some 1ft right angle power cords. They had them on Amazon but they want more to ship them than they cost. Orvac has 3 and is ordering me the rest.

I will upload the pics in a few. I am munching on some corned beef I forgot to make yesterday :)

Cheers,
Mo

Yup! Made it through the night without a mishap :) One of the blue dream girls has burn marks from the accident.
