That's pretty much that there is to Unsulfured Blackstrap Molasses you can buy @ your local farm feed. The stuff you buy for a lot more is nothing but molasses in most cases with very little of other stuff which can be found in granulated nutes for your common plant. This is what many people claim and by the way it seems, they are right.

Earth Juice Hi-Brix molasses for plants (0-0-3). Should be equally or more cost effective than grocery store blackstrap if you buy in gallons (or larger quantities). But there is nothing wrong with regular blackstrap. Just make sure it is blackstrap and not 1st or 2nd molasses.

im asking because molasses is some nasty stuff to use it gets on everthing and smells horriable! plus i cant see how that stuff doesent attract bugs its basicly syrup.i would rather pay the extra money not to have to deal with the mess..

haha I'll tell you something else it attracts.....bears!! A bear came into my garden last year and bit a hole in the 5 gallon bucket of molasses and dumped it over and ate a bunch!! I'll see if I can find the pics of the bucket with the teeth holes in it. haha

I don't know man the blackstrap I use smells just fine. Guess I am not quite understanding how it gets on everything... unless it was poured on. I've never had any problems pouring molasses into a shot glass or tablespoon and pouring that into water.

Maybe you should look into something like Earth Juice Catalyst, it is derived from molasses and a few other ingredients but has the consistency of a liquid .

Not 100% sure of this since i have never used a molasses substitute but all of them should still have a sweet scent/flavor since its really the sugars that you are after. So if its bugs your worried about... idk. Seal the growroom and dont bring any in with you :)

On a side note : i also dislike the scent of molasses :) but the plants sure do love it so i suck it up ;)

Yes molasses is stickey but your not washing in it, I used it for years and never had any issues with it. To use it, make sure it is warm and measure what you need into a 2L pop bottle, I mix at a rate of 1/2 table spoon per gallon. (I do it once a week) So measure into pop bottle fill with warm water and shake the shit out of it. Now pour into your gallons of water, mix and use, no mess.
