I am probably being lazy, but can someone link me to a thread that informs you how to use molasses on your plants? It sounds interesting lol.

Otherwise, can someone tell me how to use it. Do you use just any old molasses that you can aquire at your local store, or what? And, how much do you use and how often.

I just started using it recently. I went to walmart and got the brand "crosbys" it's made from 100 % sugarcane juice and apparently unsulfured. That is what you need I'm told. Some say blackstrap but it clearly contains sulfites. It can be used 2 tbs per gallon on water only days, is what I hear. I dont know the specifics, I just started using it to add size and bulk to buds for the last 3 weeks

Thanks man. Can you start at any point of the flowering phase?

i use raw natural dark brown sugarcane will good results adds a lil weight and a sweeter/tastier smoke highly recommend it with a little bit of advanced nutrients bud candy or botaniacare sweet for best results

This might be a stupid question, but as molasses is thick and syrupy, do you just stir it into the water etc...?

I just get the jarred shit from the market. Once you open it, be sure and keep it in the fridge to keep it cool and to keep it from turning into alcohol. That would for sure be a disaster to your beautiful ladies.

But yeah, I use bottled water for watering my plants. pH is pretty consistent with the brand I use.. I just think its better for the plants IMO.

But so yeah I will usually put 1/4th tbl.spn. per bottle. Just stick the tablespoon into the bottle and stir violently until it all drips and falls into the water. There ya go. I then usually use it every third watering or so. It DOES add sweetness to the buds. Definately worth it and won't harm your plants either. Molasses also helps speed up the plants metabolism. ;) "Knowledge is power and power is knowledge!"

Actually it does ad weight.. ;) and.. it does add a sweeter flavor to the buds. The buds soak up water.. or whatever goes into the soil. So therefore, if you pour a mix of Molasses and h2o into the soil, the plants roots are going to soak and drink it and so is the rest of the plant. Including the leafs. ;)

I use 1tbsp of brier rabbit full flavor (Not blackstrap) molasses in a 3 on 1 off schedule per one gallon of water and my plants love the fucking shit out of it. I use it in addition to my regular nutes with no reduction in anything.

But id start small if i were you, ive been working at it for a while to get it right.

lol. as to not feed into the industries common and widespread practice of re packaging products and selling them at an exponential revenue.

Including the leafs. :wink:" ur saying the buds taste sweeter because molasses was in the water? i mean if thats the case everyone would be pouring grape kool aid or some other crap on the buds.I use the stuff as well and not wanting to offend anyone i was just trying ot help the guy out who started the thread.

the mollasses i use deffo add flavour and weight - ive used them and not used them and they do deff enhance the overall bud in a few different spectrums - at the end of the day they dont DRASTICALLY change anything but the plants do benefit from adding mollasses - just make sure you put them in warm water and mix them alot then let them cool and water away

every little bit helps when smoking you own home grown and for $10 a bottle of grandmas mollasses why shudnt you enhance ur bud - at the end of the day - it all helps!

In a nutshell, molasses is like olive oils (virgin, extra virgin). There are three kinds of molasses consisting of first, second and third extractions. Blackstrap is the third extraction, therefore has the least sugar.

All three kinds can be either sulfured or not. If the cane is young they use sulfur in the process, if it's old they don't.

Grandma's Blackstrap molasis for the win.
Unsulfered, thick and sticky.
1.5 heaping Tbs per 10 gallons.

Common misconseption is that you boil the water. No. Warm the water, if it boils it kills the active biological enzymes in
the molasis.
let it cool and transplant to a glass jar for use. easy to measure.
Nothing better then some good ol' molasis though.

I will just throw my cents into the ring and another link with some good info. I have been using molasses for years and years for all my plants to include MJ. Really don't know if I can taste a difference or not but the molasses acts both on the soil feeding your microbeasties and on your plant giving it the sugars it needs to grow. I use the stuff from the beginning of the grow until the last watering of the grow also.Heres the link I hope that you have the same great results I do.
