hiya peeps,i would just like hear peoples views on molasses as i am a newbie grower,,i have just flushed a auto northern light (she a nice plant) i will be giving her just normal water for 10 (as advised)but should i add molasses as ive heard this helps the cannabis taste that bit sweeter

if molasses helps in any way it benefits the micro-organisms in soil, apart from that no real proof that even flushing benefits plants, if anything, starving them when they're ripening isn't great practise

I tried the whole molasses thing on a grow last year and didn't notice much difference. Maybe I wasn't using enough.
Edit: I don't flush either.

Why did you flush?. Molasses does not act as a sweetener, it is a catalyst to feed your microbes which in turn feed your plants for soil grows only. I use it for organics and to speed up composting. It is worthless for hydro b/c it is not in a form the plant can use.

thanks for advice guys,i'm, taking all this in,,,i use soil,,canna a+b superthrive and accellorater boost,,i was advised to flush d 10 days before harvest,as far as ive read everybody flushes as it flushes all the nuits out and then it wont taste harch,,shes a lovely plant,nice compact buds so ive done nothing wrong upto now in that way

do some more reading. from what i see, the people who have tried not flushing stick to it and the people who flush have never tried it both ways fairly. not hijacking ur thread with an argument on it, all i'll say is do some reading. the "i dont starve my plants before harvest" thread has some good info (both sides of it) on it to help make ur mind up

honest vanishing all i do is read,but its sounding like i shouldnt flush,,ive just set a couple more of auto northern lights of,,i'll flush 1 and not flush the other and find out through experience :)

cheers mate,am gonna stop flushing them then,i got told to flush them,then feed them water for 2 weeks before harvesting,,ive got a auto northern light what just about ready as shes mostly milky

good rule of thumb is once you think she's ready, wait a week. take a sample before you chop, speed dry it, jus check it for potency. if you get the kind of high you want chop away

the reason you need to read up on things, is because theres so many different opinions on things...it just gives you an idea of what people do, and what results they get using certain products, and the type of grow they are doing...ultimately it is up to the grower to decide what to use, how much, and all that other good stuff...i will say that flushing does have its pros and cons. TASTE is the big one, no matter who you talk to, or what they say soil vs. hydro at any point is going to taste differently flushed or not...if you want my opinion i flush 1 time about 3 days before i put my girls in the dark for 48 hrs. i grow in soil...i have a buddy that grows hydro, and no matter if i flush my soil or not, when he smokes it he notices a different, and what he calls " earthy taste " if you ask me, what he calls earthy taste is just the subtle flavor difference that soil gives you as apposed to the lack of flavor out of hydro.

if you are serious about growing yourself, or your community of friends some bomb weed, then you will have to just figure out what your plants like best, and how much of it you can get away with. experimenting is the only way you will ever perfect this art.
