You can use molasses, I use Earth Juice Hi-Brix, in both organic and non-organic soils. I have been using molasses in both my Earth Juice(all-organic) and FoxFarm(non-organic) nute lineups for about 5 grow cycles, and the earlier I start in flower the better overall my buds seems to be. It could be mastering my grow technique with each grow that does most of the magic but it seems molasses just makes the buds more frosty and fatter. In my first few grows I had a plant or two each time that didn't frost up much like the others, and now that I'm using molasses for longer periods in flower at higher strengths I have yet to have a strain that doesn't frost up like a snowman. Currently use molasses from about day 20 of flower to a week before flush, I start at 1/2 tsp a gallon and end up at 2 TBSP per gallon in the end. It's amazing stuff.
