Not for making hash but for making Cannabucha.

1 ounce of moldy weed
1 gallon of spring water
2 slices of bread. "Any bread will do but moldy bread is preferrable"
1 unfertilized chicken egg that's been kept at 80°F for 90 days
2-3 raw chicken legs that have been sitting out at room temperature for 48 hours
1 cup fresh herbs such as mint, dill, tarragon, etc... depending on the flavor profile you're looking for
1/2 cup of brown sugar

Optional:
Honey
Molasses
Habanero or other hot pepper
Cucumber
Kimchi
Just go with what sounds appealing to you

Mix all ingredients together in a 2 gallon container with a lid and seal it up. After one month remove the lid and skim the top off which you'll save as that's the "Mother" and will be used to start the next batch.

The rest of the liquid is the Cannabucha and can be drunk immediately. Most prefer it chilled with fresh squeezed lemon juice and a couple sprigs of mint.

I have a different question related to the topic of mold and bubble hash... usually I freeze my hash into pucks and grate them over parchment paper using a micro plane and let dry... its a pain in the ass so this time I just separated it as much as I could and let it dry... my question is... is there moisture still trapped inside these little chunks and could it possibly lead to mold?

If so... I do have a nice dehydrator that gets a low temp of 100F I could throw it in there over night?

What does the brain trust think? Pic of said bubble hash attached

Failures in growing/processing can feel catastrophic and might even be. There are two options, quit or eat the loss and try again. I suggest the latter but that’s just me. Figure out your failure point and correct it.

If you made it with clean inputs and are drying it in a clean area it should be fine I don’t fuck with hash much though. It safe to dry with heat but it’ll kill the flavor

as a response, the answer is yes. Not drying or curing correctly with too much moisture can definitely lead to moldy hash. (Drying & curing properly is the most important step I’ve learned.) I squeeze all the water out as much as possible without damaging the tricombs with my finishing screens and immediately place in freezer for 24 hours. Then place in empty pizza box until dry enough to start breaking apart. As your hash dries, I then break down further with a knife until fine grade. Let dry for 3-5 days until fully dry, then press and enjoy.

Beautiful collection! Thanks for the advice! I have broken it up into small pieces... and also, very funny that I am not the only one drying in pizza boxes! hopefully the breaking up I have done has been sufficient. Thanks for the input!

You bet. Been looking into a freeze dryer. Saw a smaller compact home unit for @ $100 but much larger units are in the thousands. Until then, good old fashioned air drying in cool environment will do. Good luck on your future runs. Been a very enjoyable hobby for me

Yeah I have looked into those but can't justify the huge cost just to make my hash drying easier lol

Pic of my latest, seems to be fine after breaking down to this size as opposed to micro planing.

My son bought a fairly expensive one. We used it last year.

It flat ruined my bud. It sucked all the turps out. The bud had almost no taste but the water that was pulled out smelled like it had all the turps. No more of that thing for me.

His is a 5 tray Harvast Right. If you spend all that time, money, and growing why not cure it? I don't think you'll be happy it.
