more, more and more hairs. When will the buds form?

been flowering for about 4-5 weeks now. I'm getting impatient with the little bastard

I know that but I mean when do they actually start resembling buds and not just hairs

What kind of light are you using?

I'm using cfls

how much cfls? they wont look great with low amounts of cfls or if they are too far away, but you are at that peak time when theres just assloads of white hair, the next 2 weeks you will see more of a bud forming, be patient.

Mine are at 7 weeks.
The white hairs come out of the bud leaf tips.

You should start seeing the buds form within a week or two.

I think cfl's work fine it just takes longer.

I plan to let mine go atleast another 4 weeks maybe even longer.
I want to let them be all they can be.

in 4 weeks your plant may be over due, and the thc will have broken down to an amount that decreases your potency substantially. if it's higher sativa maybe not, i let my widow go 10 weeks and and on the very last day i saw my mostly cloudy, 1-2 amber triches here n there. you should not judge a harvest by the pistills at all. always check the trichomes, trust me. pistills are very innaccurate. the plant flowers in the same amount of time under a hid or a cfl, so the argument of cfls taking longer is probobly not true. cfls shoulf be kept within 1 inch and tweaks twice daily for optimal results, small cfl leaf burns if they touch are worth the risk in the outcome, ask Garden Knowm.

if your plants are 7 weeks into 12/12, you need to get a pocket magnifier from radio shack, and look at your trichomes under 100x mag. cloudy opaque trichomes are peak potency.

keep im mind his plant is high sativa, look at the leafs, sativas flower slower.

what im growing is about 80/20 in favor of sativa...

could you add any more lights ? o'rly maybe thats why its takeing so long to kick in, but you never know this time next week they may all look like buds

wop on that bigbud, if grown with cfls it takes quiet a few to do the trick and if it is now crowded wit preflowers these will develop eventual into buds by next week. in general i would add a few more cfls in 2700K range to be sure they do the trick
