Plant has today, just become extremely stinky! I walked into the room and bam! I was hit with this potent weed smell. YAY . PICS SOON
I have also, been almost daily lowering the PH from about 6 to 5.8.
I think the final flush will be in the next 2/3 weeks or so.
oh i understand all that but i always thought a good PH was 6.5 i was just curious as to why you were lowering itPH (The Acidity/Alkalinity) of your water/nutrient matters to the plant. Too high PH and you are basically pouring acid on your plant. They don't like this and it can cause nutrient lock-out(Stops some parts of the nutrients from being absorbed such as magnesium) which leads to a nutrient deficiency, or even death if the PH is too high or low.
It works the same both ways. The target is 5.8. (5.5-6.0 is okay).
PH is a lot more important in Hydroponic systems as it varies much more than typical soil mediums. The soil acts as a PH buffer and already contains nutrients, but it still does matter if the PH rises/lowers.
