Most efficient way of light for $60 -$80

Can people stop telling the poor confused guy to buy cfls, what is the point if he has a budget for lighting of around 80 dollars why waste any of it on cfls, they wont be able to flower his plants very well with it, just spend the extra and get a hps and be done

Ok then fair enough go out buy some cfls, grow some mediocre weed and feel disapointed that you didnt take the advice from people who have grown a plant

I grow with only CFLs, but IMO price is not the reason to go CFL. My setup cost as much as I could have gotten into an HPS. Granted, I have an extreme CFL setup.

Again, IMO where you want to grow has much more to do with what you should buy, regardless of budget. I have no outside ventilation and wanted a very stealthy grow which would fit in my closet. However, this did not save me money!

I have two sets of lights (6500k and 2700k). My total cost in lighting is a little over $200. For this I could have went either way.

If you have the space and good ventilation go with HPS. It sounds to me like you can fit it in your budget. If you do not have a good enviro for HPS, I would be happy to post my suggestions for a low end CFL solution.

Small space (36x24x48) and currently 10 plants. They are about 4 days into flowering. Once they sex I will replant and thin to 5.

i would recommend the floro flood lights, these will direct the light in one direction, the normal spiral cfls direct light in all directions, not as efficient. you will need to pop the cap off the floodlight, which can be done with a phillips head.

im using two 2 ft flouro tubes for germinating right now, but i wouldnt recommend them. I am def gonna try to get some cfls
