Mother plant question for expert

Can a mother plant in veg. become a hermie from stress?

Why i am asking; I took cuttings and veged a crop, then in week #3 of flowering some of them turned hermie:o. So I chopped the whole crop down:sad:, I trying to figure out why this happened, because I have had these mothers for years with no problems, until now. I have alot of that same strain, and they look just fine. But I want to figure out what might have happened.
Also my sister came over @ Xmas, she has males/hermies, Could she have been a source (Pollen on clothes)? Appreciate any infro. Peace

not trying to thread jack at all but i also have a question on clones. im using green light 'rooting' rooting hormone. cuttings go into rapid rooting pods then into the humidity dome where they get 24 hrs of light from a 50 watt cfl thats like 5 inches above the dome... my question is that i just took my first set of clones and 4/5 look very dead, while one has the tell tale yellowing bottom leaves and is still standing straight up after like 5 days.
Now, i do the process correctly, cut -- dip in water -- dip in powder / knock excess off -- stick in rooter -- moisten bottom tray / spray the dome roof.... but for whatever reason this is the second time ive done the process and killed 8 clones... one lived. what am i doing wrong?

Did you put them in 24hrs. of darkness, before u give them 24hrs. of light? Are u cutting them at 45 degree angle? R u lightly scraping the bottom of the stem to expose the cambium right under the noid? I prefer the gels like Root-tech, but I got an ezcloner to make my life a bit easier. Goodluck Bro. Hope it works. Hey if U hear from an expert on Mothers...Tell them about me. Peace

thanks for the help sebs, I never did a 24 hr dark cycle. should I? ive heard that the clones root better in darkness than they do in light... so next time ill do a dark cycle. i had seeds germing in the dome too this time anyway soo i needed the light (once they sprouted). 45 degree angle check. i didnt scrapt the stem because i thought i didnt had too on a cutting that wasn't "woody" for lack of better expression. Plus im using a powder... which the local hydro shop kinda laughed at, but then they tried to sell me 30 dollar cloning gell. I'm all for supporting local biz but 30 bux for the gel, and 25!!!! for the top of a humidity dome (rolls eyes).
Now I'm not the person to solve your problem, and you probably know more than I... but could something have changed in your setup to stress ur clones? I mean recently during flower. like maybe a real hot session or maybe your c02 is spiking did you prune any of the bottom leaves on the clones (prob not if there in flower). I have a good deal of outdoor gardening experience, little with mary jane, but sometimes an aggressive (even not perceived by you to be aggressive) prune will give a perennial plant fits and shoddy growth for seasons... and the same prune on an annual can cause total failure or maybe in your case too much stress. cuz if ur momma produced multiple generations already then its probably not some new development with the mother as it could be something new your doing, maybe not even noticing it.
I dont say any of the above as an dig at your skills / attention to details (and am very appreciative of you sharing your knowledge with me) and for all i know im wrong. its just that in my experience its usually human error when it comes to plants... because given the right conditions they pretty much just do their thing.

Yes, Dark cycle(24hrs). And Yeah trial & error is the best way to learn. Im going through the steps of getting to the root of the problem, which I will with patience and research. I haven't changed too many things, did a few small things, added more light, etc. Because they r getting so big...but I might just change to some of my other great strains until I figured out what happened to those ladies. Oh and yeah I spend about $20 bucks for the rooting gel, better than buying clones from clubs. That expensive. Thanks for all your input, any information is helpful. Goodluck, peace.
