Motorhome Closet 2X 105 Watt CFL

Im in transition from House to RV to House
so while in RV I decided to do a small grow
i have a 2'X2'X5' closet
started with a bunch of 25Watt Cfl but i just wasnt happy with all the wires and light sockets it was to much
so i searched for brighter Cfls and found some 105s foe $20 each
105s are 400 watt equal Incandesent
i could of gotten the 200 watt CFL but they are 4 times the price for double the wattage
i also bought 15 small 8x10 mirrors as relectors
I wired the lights so i could adjust them about 2 feet up
and set a adjustable platform about 2 feet from floor
so the plants can go down and light can go up

i planted 4 seeds
3 Pineapple Express
1 Pineapple Diesel

1 of the PEs was a male so i replaced him with 2 clones
Alien OG
Purple Larry

Front Right Purple Larry
middle Pineapple Diesel
Back left Alien OG best seen in mirror its bent over towards the middle
back right Pineapple Express

You have alot of plants for 14,000 lumens...i had more than that for one plant at almost 2 feet tall at the end of flower, i would say you want 100 watts a plant

Robert is right. You have a2x2ft space which is 4ft cubed. The necessary lumens per sq. ft when growing is a minimum of 3000 ( for little growth ) but it's best to shoot for at least 6-8000L per sq. ft (24000-32000 lumens) to get decent production. Let's put it this way... on a sunny mid-summers day there is approx. 10,000L per sq. ft. Good luck. ~ BCbuddy420 :leaf:

I read somewhere or saw somewhere that mirrors aren't good as a reflector. They actually absorb the light. I would suggest Mylar (Emergency Blankets) or the Car reflective mylar

they are quite cheap; 1-3 bucks

Sorry Stone604 but Common sense says your statement is BS
I look at Large Solar industry that uses mirrors to reflect the sun not mylar
ive done research and it seems the only people who believe this are people on forums like this

any reflective surface will reflect the light rays all surfaces will absorb some light and all light rays wil lose thier luminence over distance
so it really doesnt make that much difference

i perfer mirrors because they have flat surfaces while mylar is to flexible and unless stretched tight will reflect light in directions you might not want
for simplicity Mirrors work best for me

A perfect mirror is a theoretical mirror that reflects light (and electromagnetic radiation in general) perfectly, and doesn't transmit or absorb it.
Domestic mirrors are not perfect mirrors as they absorb a significant portion of the light which falls on them.
Dielectric mirrors are glass or other substrates on which one or more layers of dielectric material are deposited, to form an optical coating. A very complex dielectric mirror can reflect up to 99.999% of the light incident upon it, for a narrow range of wavelengths and angles. A simpler mirror may reflect 99.9% of the light, but may cover a broader range of wavelengths.
Almost any dielectric material can act as a perfect mirror through total internal reflection. This effect only occurs at shallow angles, however, and only for light inside the material. The effect happens when light goes from a medium with a higher index of refraction to one with a lower value (like air).
A new type of dielectric "perfect mirror" was developed in 1998 by researchers at MIT.[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP] These unusual mirrors are very efficient reflectors over a broad range of angles and wavelengths, and are insensitive to polarization. A version of the perfect mirror that was developed at MIT for military use is used by OmniGuide in laser surgery. [SUP][3][/SUP]
[h=2]You come into our forum telling us that mirrors are good reflectors??? Quite an uneducated and ignorant statement. I've known for years that they absorb most of the light and here's some valid proof that in the "real world" they shouldn't be used as reflectors... But it's your grow if you wanna feed your mirrors light and not your plants, go for it! [/h]

You come on this forum looking for constructive criticism because this isn't twitter or facebook. Then you proceed to think you know everything and don't listen to people. Maybe this isn't where you really want to be? Maybe there is a forum for know it all marijuana growers that just want to share pics?

did i say I was looking for Criticism? No!
Ive got over 35 years Growing and smoking I think I know a little about what im doing

well for you people who say mirrors arent good reflectors read this
http://www.physics.uiowa.edu/~uakgun/FILES/in02_031.pdf
it a experiment with lasers on mirrors and mylar
both preform very well at different wavelengths
the Color for LEDs is measured in nm
while most other lights measure light color in Kelvin
the test only tested under 500nm Blue to UV 100nm
450 to 480 is great for Veggin plants
at 420nm Mirrors are better
where at lower Wavelength mylar is better

i would of liked to see that experiment test higher wavelengths to see how which is better for Budding
believe what you like but that article says Mirrors Are Good reflectors and since they are here and i needed something they are being used

BTW im sure i dont have HEMs just a cheap POS mirrors probably Mylar glued to a sheet of glass

What are you on this forum for? You should have made a blog and made it so noone can comment.
I mean seriously. It looks like your setup is hoopty as all hell and you expect noone to say anything? For gods sakes I have been sifting through tons and tons of pics and info on this site and others and not one pic have I seen that has a mirror in it. You have to use what you got. But can you admit that there are better ways?

well i suppose if you rally know what ure doing and you think you have a professional setup, then weel all see if you can pull anything over 10 oz. ;)
