moving an outdoor plant to my closet EVERY NIGHT!!!!!!!

So I have a plant thats been flowering for about nine weeks now. i've been moving it into my closet every night to get it the 12 hours of darkness it needs. The light cycle where I live is at 12/12 right now anyways.

Well I just read an article that said that once buds have developed maintaining the 12/12 exactly is not as important. Or further, that me moving the plant every night and morning from my closet may not be necessary any more.

What do you all think about this? Its a sativa strain. I think it has a least 2-4 weeks more to go. Its in my room during the day to get the sun that hits my back porch. Do you think leaving where it is instead of moving it everynight will cause it to hermi?

thats the thing. Light creeps in from outside a bit. Or if I need to see something in my room I have to turn on the light. Thats why this article I read seemed a bit misinformed.

Whoever told you the 12/12 cycle doesnt matter is.... WRONG. The plants react to the light change and begin to flower, but if the light goes back to say, 16/8, the plant will revert back to vegging.

Yeah. This guy was just saying that after they have clearly established their flowers and are budding, that the light cycle is not as important. Sounded a little fishy to me, but I thought I would seek some advice. Moving this plant twice a day for what will be about 15 weeks or so is kinda a pain. Nugs are lookin good though

Keep moving it like you have been, If you change the light cycle you will stress it and cause it to hermie.. You also cant look at sunrise sunset calanders to determine the amount of light.. We recieve light from then sun both before and after the offical rise & set times.. To get an accurate estimate you want to look at a twilight calander.. I think the light in most parts of the country is pushing 14hrs right now.. Thats Enough like to make your plant re-veg...

I live down close to the equator....5 degrees north actually. But I think thats good advice about continuing to move the plant. Almost there!!! THis is just a bag seed plant...so im not sure how long it needs to go...its def a sativa....so I could be moving this bushy gal for 9 more weeks.....caramba!!!

Just get a big trash can and cover it up man, would be easier then carrying the plant in and out... As long as you take it off in the morning before it gets to hot outside it'll be fine... You'll know when she's ready, one day you'll wake up and uncover her and just know it's time to snip snip...

Outdoor is far diffrent and no 12 hours of dark does not trigger flowing UNLESS indoor.
I have 2 Chem dawgs and 2 w widow clones in straight flower as of now.
I cloned them in January. I moved em out side some weeks ago and boom. Straight to flower. Were at 14 hours light now.

Notice when you grow outside seedling from start to finish. It never really beces 12 12 until frost is in full swing. So our outdoor gardens tend to flower of cooler temps shorter light cycles ect ect.
So really Outside tends to flower at around 14 and 15 hours light.

But you have been going back and forth. I'd stick to it incase stressing occurs. Your plant is used
To a specific light cycle. Just to be safe.

But outdoor you can forget about the 12 12

For a Max , crazy & wild kind of Veg Grower, 24/0 is goal. 12/12 for Veg is for 2 Oz. & happy Feet people. Dude, you have a long way to go. Of 50, I keep mine under 1,000 watt HPS on trak-Lighting from evening to morning. Then haul the Baby Bitch's every morning to the real sunshine... reverse process each late afternoon. Yahoo weather home page tells me the sunrise-sunset.... When it (Sun rise/Sun set) reaches at LEAST 13 hrs. per day, then, and ONLY then, do I leave my Veg. Babies outdoors, "In the Pea Patch" for "Summer Camp".
Since your stuck in the Flowering stage, 12 yes, but the darkness, can make or break your ass. Meaning, any light brighter than the full moon durning the "nite-nite" time will cause ill effect on your immature Baby/Lady. Good Luck.

I vegged 12 plants 20/4 from Jan 1st to March 1st indoor. Then put them outdoors in my greenhouse on March 4th. I have 2-3 weeks left until the finish line. and I'm getting 13hrs 22min of sun these today. I'm not worried about them revegging at this point. There almost 8 weeks into flowering and should be fine. In fact I think the longer days are a good thing this late into flowering.
Good Luck

I put mine in the greenhouse march 2nd. I was afraid they would start to reveg. They were popping off nice, frosty flowers up until about a week ago and then stopped, I noticed a few bananas on two 'em. I got scared so Last night I put a 6 mil black tent over 'em at 7:30, took it off at 7:30 this morning. I hope I am not making a mistake, but they really look like they want to reveg. I'm probably wrong as I have been paranoid about it happening anyways and actually posted about it on here in Feb. The other main factor is cold temps at night.

Sounds like they are exagerrating, kinda like a fish story. When a 5lb catfish turns into a 50lb monster.. First of all, it's not the weather that makes the plants flower, it's the light.. If you put a plant out in march, it will start flowering if and only if it is mature enough to flower.. Seedlings wont flower untill they're about a month old.. If you do get one to start flowering, unless you move it inside to a dark room or cover it up somehow, it's gonna start reveging about this time of year.. We get to much light to allow flowering hormones to build up to the critical level needed to produce buds, plus the days are getting longer not shorter. Plants have an internal clock, they know what season it is from the changes in light and tempetures.. If you want to make a female plant hermie mess with the light schedule, I promise you will have seeds in your weed every time.. I'm not new to this game, I understand nature and how it works. I've also been growing for longer then most have you been alive probably... Trust me put your plants in the ground the middle of May and leave them alone, Let nature run it's corse. If you put them out any earlier you will be sorry.... The weather has changed a little bit over time but not near as drasticly as you are clamming.. Look in past years Farmers almanacs, The first and last frost dates haven't changed more then a week in the last 100 years, let alone in the last 20... The avg high and low temps have not changed more then 6 or 7 degrees... All this talk about climate change and global warming is government scare tactics, it's been scientificly proven... I wish yall the best of luck with your grow endevours this year... Keep your plants stealthy and may the buds be with you......
