Moving from indoor to outdoor, changing the cycle schedule

So I have 6 plants that I want to move outdoors in about 2 weeks, but for logistical reasons, they are indoors under a 12/12 light cycle that goes on from 11PM - 11AM... obviously if I change the cycle they will under-go some shock, but I was wondering if there are any techniques to mitigate the shock? Is it better to slowly change the cycle like 1 hour per day, or is better to get it overwith at once?

I really don't know...and I'm just throwing it out there, but maybe 24-36 hrs darkness during the transition? I can only imagine the plants will freak out a little, but I dunno...good question. I'm eager to see what others think about this subject.

This was my gut feeling exactly... one day move them into a dark chamber before lights go off. So starting from 11AM - sunrise the next day so nearly 20 hours of darkness, then move outside at dawn.
