Moving from starting mix to soil

I planted my seeds yesterday in some jiffy seed starting mix, and I am expecting them to have sprouted when I get home today. However, I am not sure when or how to transplant the seedlings into my other soil (Miracle Gro). Also, how often should I water these seedlings in the starting mix?

To transplant the seedlings you peel the netting from the jiffy starter plugs. Then place the plug directly into the pot your planing on growing in. As far as watering. The starter plugs all you have to do is keep them moist. And with your pots make sure the water will drain out of the bottom. Then just keep the soil moist. Theres not really a watering schedule. It depends on how fast your soil dries out.

I also use jiffy sometimes, the coco ones, so I place it directly into the soil from it also because roots have already formed inside it, if you try to break it open you may damage the roots, might also stunt growth etc .
So make a hole the size of your jiffy, dump your jiffy inside and lightly cover the jiffy with soil and around it so no light gets in - basically after it is in possition cover the hole. make the soil damp but not soaking wet, keep them at around 60% humidity , don't drop the water directly on it, but close to the stem and around it , i'd suggest water early morning or late evening when the light isn't strong. Are the seeds Autos?

Just to be clear, I am using this seed starting mix, not the other products you guys listed.

Read the post I just added. Also, these are seeds I got from someone who grows and sells me pretty decent bud. Not sure about the genetics, but they look pretty healthy.

Well if that soil doesn't contain that gradual release neuts it should be ok, it can be done with gradual release, in the end it's a plant, problem is exact amount of crap they put in and if you add anything good it could lead to neut burn.
Seedwise, if u not sure if auto or normal, well usually auto show signs that they can flower within 4 max 5 weeks usually and if Auto it will probably be ready for harvest around 1 month and a half later for most strains.
EG WW Auto might be 60 day life cause it's genetically modified, so usually it takes 3-5 weeks veg then starts to flower, basically in most cases split the time in half to see phase, but just by looking at them you will notice the difference. If normal strain then it will stay in veg for 2,3 even 4 months in some cases, in reality a non Auto could be kept in veg for 10 years according to studies imagine that

So basically if after 2months no signs of flower development then it's probably a normal strain Even if you give the same light on good Autos, due to genetics they will pop a bud, average long for me in veg was 6 weeks but i do a constant 20/4, i let it decide when to change, some might go 24/0 with an Auto this also works fine, they are more robust and built to be pushed to the limit.

I just got home and decided to check up on them. It's been almost 24 hours and nothing has risen from the mix on any of them. However I noticed a tiny little bug crawling in one of the pots. These are indoor by the way. There also appears to be tiny metal pieces throughout the mix. I dug around a little in the mix and haven't seen another bug besides that one as of yet.

Listen, got a plastic box? if so make holes on the top part, place jiffy inside, make sure they are damp, place them on a radiator for 24hrs. Unless you have a heat mat. Remember first wait for them to sprout then plant them, good auto seeds can take average 48hrs, normal seed might even take a week , even more if conditions are not warm enough. If the haven't poked their heads out, they are not rdy to be planted in soil. Some people drop a seed in a glass of water for 24hrs and that method does work well cause you can see the tail with your own eyes.
Key is patients, let them decide when to come out but put them in the right direction, heat , humidity helps alot to make them sprout

I just think if it's possible you should go with ocean or happy frog soil. Miracle grow isn't the best soil for growing. I have no comment on the jiffy.

Jiffy is great stuff. You will have tiny bugs in any kind of soil you buy. They are probably fungus gnats. Miracle grow will work. Ive grown pot in miracle grow for years. I dont use it now but will in a pinch. Dont over think it. Remember its just a plant. I would focus on just completeing the grow cycle not so much on trying to produce cannabis cup nugs. Once you can coplete the entire life cycle then you can focus on all the complicated stuff we love to talk about. If you just keep it alive your skills will thrive.
