first, i must apologize for all of my posts, I just want to assure my first experience is a positive one. I'd like to follow the guidelines and understand the correct and optimal way for me to do this. That being said, I will explain my experience thus far. Any information leading to my better understanding this process is very much appreciated This forum has been the best place for me to ask my many questions without being mocked or trolled.

so,
I have a copious amount of seeds saved up from various locations. They are all bag seed so I'm hoping for a lucky sprout as my plan is only to grow two plants at a time. No need to waste the added expenses of my first learning experience. I have about 5 currently germinating in a papertowel under a bowl since sunday night. 2 of them popped in 12 hrs. I let the roots come out of those 2 until this morning. I then placed them in soaked peat pellets and placed them in the little dome directly under a 100w equivalent light bulb fixed inside a brooder lamp. They've been under the light all day.

Question- Do i keep them under the light for 24 hrs until they sprout out of the pellet? if not, what kind of light schedule, if any, should i use?
Question- When is the right time to transplant the pellet into my main grow buckets
Question- how many more of the CFLS should i Fix around the plants

I will be getting a PPM meter within the next few days. and my current method of testing PH is the color changing tester bottle that comes with PH up/down. My reservoirs will be 2 separate DWC 5 gallon buckets (Dark green with black colored) with single 6 inch net cup lids. But my questions are somewhat general. so we will say i have only 1 because they will be run the same way. My medium is hydroton clay rocks. I've had my bucket filled to about an inch and a half or so above the bottom of the net pot. Which is filled with the medium enough to cover all light leeks into the bucket from the top. I have a 6 inch air stone running into the side of the bucket via black air tubing and a small air pump. (I'm going to upgrade to a much nicer one so i can run the 2 buckets off one airpump) I have the Jungle juice 3 part nutrient system. my pondzyme will also be arriving tomorrow so i can do a treatment to prevent root rot and all of that annoyance i've read about.

Question- Should i run my air stone in the filled bucket for a few days to help cleanse the water?
Question- When do i add my pondzyme? Before/after nutrients? Before/after root establishment?
Question- when seedling is transplanted to the bucket should i have my nutrients already in place? or do i let the plant drink the oxygenated water for a a certain amount of time before adding them.
Question- Do i touch the bottom of the pellet to the water in the net pot or hand water until they make their way down?

I suppose i'll also turn this into page one of my grow journal in hopes that with this knowledge i can put myself into the second phase, and second chapter of asking many more questions >.<.

I should also add that In the mail any day now i should be receiving my 2'x3.5'x6' Grow tent. so that seems to be what installment 2 of my grow/learning journal will continue!

Thank you very much to those who were able to make it through my short story here, and an even bigger thanks to those who can help me!

Everyones gotta start out somewhere ;) and thats usually the at the bottom with no experience. So good luck with your grows.

1) Light is NOT required for the seedling to sprout. I myself and many others use a light 24/7 until it sprouts to give it extra heat. After sprouting I change it to 18/6. Again another personal preference, as people use 24/0, 20/4, 19/5, 18/6. Cannabis does not need darkness to grow, only to flower.

2) Ive never used peat pellets, but used similar things from the dollar store a long time ago when i tried to grow. Id put it in atleast a solo cup for a week or 2 to get an established root zone.

3) When using CFLs dont go by equivalent wattage, go by the actual. Make sure your bulbs are 5000k-6500k throughout the veg stage. At the start use a 23-26 watt per plant over top 2-3 inches (close enough without burning

I have no DWC growing epxerience so Ill let someone else help you out with that. Again, good luck hope this helps.

Awesome! thank you. I'm going to keep it 24/0 until it sprouts. And then i think i'll move to 18/6 once it's sprouted.

Keep the info coming! thank you all.

ya then jump to 100w per plant 5000-6000lumens is what your lookin for ...airstone-no just let h2o sit for 24 hrs for chlorine to evap out of it....start with ph water only 6.0 the trace minerals in tap h2o will be sufficient then start off @20% of product suggest amount less is more getting started....ya touch it to h2o it knows where the moisture is comming from they will reach for it..
