Moving to Michigan from Ohio

I'm looking into to moving to Michigan to grow full time. The meds they give to us veterans is complete bullshit so that's my reason for moving. I'm going to be trying be a caregiver for other vets and make sure they are hooked up. My question is, is there any sort of site or anything that has 420 friendly rental houses? Any info would be great. TY

Hi RangerJ -

you may be lucky enough to stumble upon the right ad at Craigs list, but I haven't seen a lot of mmj friendly LL's advertising. maybe register on as many mi mmj sites as possible and begin to network. otherwise id just try to see as many places for rent as you can and try to get a feel for a LL without fully disclosing -all- of your intentions. good luck with your endeavor.

Good VA hospital in Iron Mountain. Lots of vets in the UP, not a lot of good growers or caregivers either. If you want to come to Michigan and grow for veterans I will try to help you out no matter where you land in the state. You and/or MEEDSMMASAP should have no problem finding a reasonable place.

So, your planning on learning to grow while caregiving? If so there is a lot of people already doing that, maybe its the same meds they have been giving you already.

Good luck. The state could use some more qualified caregivers, thats for sure.

check cl-

for rentals. 90% of em are on there i bet. where else, the paper? lol

just mail the people and sya what you said here. alot of ol schoolers in the more rural areas, small town america. unless you're a diehard liberal. then flint's the ticket. pinconning and north is gods country.

thanks for your service. past and current.

Hi Ranger J , looks like you are moving ahead quickly with your plan , makes me wonder what I’m doing wrong , finding a place to rent has not been my problem , its finding a rental that doesn't have a problem with growing MM that is the problem , I probably should just not mention what I plan to do but I’m sure it wont take the landlord long to find out . I’m now heading in a different direction , looking for a place outside of town with an acre or so . If you do find a place and you want someone to share the rent let me know , I’m heading up to MI after the holidays

go to Gaylord instead of Flint. We up here in the north let others to their business, you dont fuck with me I wont fuck with you. Gaylord has a small VA clinic for vets and alot of need in the area. I know of a HUGE supporter in Gaylord, when you settle down ask me for his info and I will put you in touch with him. There is also the safety aspect in Gaylord compared to Flint. There is a major freeway thru Gaylord, I75, easy in, easy out.
Winter sucks unless you like cold and snow, Gaylord is the buckle in the snow belt, right in the middle and always a target.

What's wrong with flint? It's decriminalized in flint. Stay out of the ghetto and the ghetto will stay out of you. I like flint. Unless your selling crack the cops don't care. Up north cops are bored.

I really like both Flint & Gaylord. They are about as different as can be though.
It sounds like they are both in Michigan, they are in all reality worlds apart though.
Flint is where I would go to go get fucked up for a day or six. Gaylord is way more
rural. Northern Woods at it's best. There are longs lists of pros and cons to both.

Needsmeds, I believe you said you are retired and up there in age. I do not want to discourage you,
I want to encourage you. In my honest opinion, there is no way in hell you should be
trying to move into Flint or Detroit. It IS a war zone. These guys in Flint, Detroit, Saginaw,
are soldiers. Thieves will actually get into fights among themselves over who gets to rob you
first. Anyone wanting to relax and not dive headfirst into the big market, should be looking outside
the immediate SE Michigan. Many people on here are outside of Ann Arbor/Jackson that is a fantastic
area. Way SW Corso and Stump say it's good also, or head north. I believe most of the Northern Lower
and most of the UP is very laid back. For some people, laid back is pure torture. I get that way occasionally.

Well yeah. Don't move to flint. Move to Davison or Lapeer. Lapeer is country enough to walk around naked on your property, but close enough to go to the city. We have dispensaries all over. I work at the largest hydro shop in the area. It's very chill. Everyone I know grows here and city folks go to Lapeer for smoke. It's one of the first "country" setting outside of the city.

No shit. I didn't know you were from Lapeer. I have family there, and I lived all over Lapeer county for a good part of growing up. Homeless was kicking around the idea of Flint and I told him then, Lapeer is much more chill and right down the road. I would be very comfortable buying land in Lapeer county.

good advise for needmmasap... I mentioned Jackson and surrounding areas to him based on safety, affordability and access to other resources. I keep my eyes open needmmasap.
