Moving to RI in a few months

You can do anything you like. My suggestions is based only on what I would do in your situation, which I was in not too long ago. I feel as if you would have an easier time and higher quality plants with soil because of your previous experience with soil. Whoever said hydroponics is brutal should get a fucking medal. Water Farms can be very unforgiving and it's so easy to switch from soil to hydro after harvesting but not so easy the other way around; buying and selling the equipment sometimes gets hard. Plus, if you want a clean setup, with the money you save, you could buy a tent or two. Those tents come fully pre-sanitized and if you start clean, your job will be much easier. A 400 mh light will go a lOng way for veg. But these are all variables that depend on the place you get so nothing could be for certain until you move in.
 
thanks homie yeah thats alot less stuff to worry about i like the idea of soil until i stack some paper. Do you know how I could get in contact with real estaters that hook people up with chill landlords. A friend and I are ordering a bunch of pins were being made (back of terrapin station) hopefully these sell well and we can be on our way up 2 RI. Providence is def lookin like the only place im going to be able to afford.
 
I was hoping to acquire some clones so I dont have to worry about males and I can get a mother up and running right away. Does anyone in the area work with soil and do cuttings? I wouldn't mind working with seeds I just have insane amounts of paranoia about staying within the legal limits. I just really need to get atleast some plants up and running with the move and all I will be in debt and have no money for medicine.

1. Don't talk to anyone without a license about your room
2. Avoid detection of smell
3. Dont stick out like a sore thumb.
Search up rhode island medical marijuana bust on google or any search engine. You'll see that out of the entire medical marijuana program, only several people were busted. Most was because they were growing over 100 plants and abusing the hell out of their licenses. That's too many plants for anybody. Another reason why someone might get busted is the rhode island police department does not have access to the addresses of caregivers or patients. Anyone growing in rhode island to them could potentially be illegal growers. There was a case where they brought an entire swat team and several police squads to bust down the door of a 60 something year old gentleman who is a patient. They found tiny plants and everyone felt like idiots. The police even admitted they need the list of medical growers. Hopefully things will change in the future. But don't worry about being a few plants over the limit. God forbid there is indeed a bust in your house, just chop down the extra plants. Cops fucking love dead marijuana plants. It gives them pleasure knowing you had to kill your own children pretty much... Sick bastards...
 
Def good to know. I've been reaching out to investors since last night promising them 150% return in 6 months and ive already had some individuals express interest. man I really hope this goes down in a few weeks i cannot contain my excitement. Im thinking bought doing a feeding system with drip rings so when i switch over to hydro i can use the irrigation system to build my own 4 bucket systems. Thinking i might build 3 sets of 4 bucket systems so I can feed different strains different nutrients and do flushes.

Was that the "bust" in North Smithfield that I saw on the news a bunch of weeks back. "Many police arrived at the house in the early morning but no arrests were made. The neighbors said some of their windows had black plastic over them, etc." They even had one guy on getting interview saying he moved to that neighborhood to get away from illegal activity. Since they said there was no arrest and on the news reel it looked like an older man and woman outside talking to the police... to me it seemed like it was a legal medical grow and someones husband was a police officer... word got around at a little league game or something and it blew up from there.

I'm not sure if thats the exact event your citing but I saw it one morning on the 5 or 6 am news. (Yes, we "users" do get up early, lol.) When I saw it I was sick because basically they disclosed that the people were MMJ patients for everyone who knows that house or recognizes their faces. Way to go!

If "they" want to knock my door down then go ahead. As long as they want to be friendly about it. I'm legal and so is my number of plants... I also have epilepsy so the lights mess with my pretty bad, give me a staus check on the way out boys - save me the headache, literally.

RIMONSTERS, You might want to read the entire set of RIGL on the law. I beleive co-op's are still not allowed unlike other states.

Not exactly. Although there was a mother, and two son trio that were all arrested last year for having the legal amount of plants. (One was a patient and the other two were caregivers.) In the same house they were technically allowed 3x the limit and I think they had that and they case eventually got thrown out. So having that many different individual growers in one place I think is still a little grey area.

Anyways, as I said I'm not stating this as a fact. I would definently read the entire RIGL (I have a couple times) and also ask others. Co-ops/Collectives are basically groups where technically everyone owns everything and individuals "voluenteer" to keep the co-op/collective going. In an MMJ sense, I think a lot of states use it as an amendment to the caregiver thing and a way to try to keep dispensaries from being on profitable businesses. (And on every corner.) Basically, a bunch of folks who can't grow their own medicine pool in their money and aquire the tools, space, etc. Those who know how to take care of it do so and everyone benefits.

A great example of one is somewhere on this site. The thread title is something like "30,000 Watt Legal Medical Grow". Thats a co-op out in California. They are a state that does allow them.

Some on websites some on hydro store. Things like soil and soil bags and anything below 30-40$ is great at the hydro store. Anything like lights and ballasts and even some nutes are considerably cheaper online. Check out ebay; that's where I got most of my stuff. Got my 130cfh inline fan for 10$. My 400w setup with hangers and dual bulbs for 160$.

I frequent Hydro Earth on Mineral Spring Ave in N. Providence and I go to Growers Edge in East Providence alot as well. The guy at growers edge is cool and very friendly to the medical customers. Hydro Earth has a better selection however specific questions are better asked in Growers Edge.

All I've ever used is the ebb and grow system with 5 gallon buckets. I love it I'm on my fifth grow and it still surprises me. Anyways good luck just read all u guys typed was a lot. Tamo
 
Thanks Tamorin yeah I think I'm going to give dwc a shot after I try coco and soil. I wanna give building my own top feed system a shot it seems simple enough and I think the only thing I wont be able to find in Home Depot are the drip rings and the baskets.
 
Hey chunkyp, I thought this website was for talking about growing and helping others out. I don't understand why you would go out of your way to say something so rude. Mark may be posting in the medical forums sections, but I don't know if there is another section that is simply for Rhode Island use. I also don't understand why I am telling you this, because a person who, again, goes out of their way to say rude remarks on a website designed to helps others must have no grain of respect in them at all. I dont like this guy coming here looking for housing under the "guise" of " im working on getting my card" this is not the place for that and its shady. i pretty much say it how it is and sometimes that doesnt sit well with others.
 
Maybe the guy loves growing marijuana and wants to do it legally while helping out a few patients. What makes him any different than you when you were getting your card? Trust me my friend. The way you entered this thread showing lack of respect and disregard for others is a clear indication that you lack character and need to seriously consider the future of yourself as a person.
 
U know I usually don't get bothered by some retards comments over the Internet but that did offend me and I'll tell ya why. I'm trying to do something legit for the first time in my life and I still gotta hear bullshit. I am tired of being a fuckin criminal just because I like to spread the love. You can't put a price on freedom and I can't believe I did for so many years. Don't worry everybody I won't be asking around for cuttings until I have card in hand. I'm setting up my appointment with 11th state consultants for about two weeks from now. I should be receiving it in about 2 months right?
 
Speaking of which what strains do people have on hand that they would be willing to part with a few cuttings preferably 4? I'm Gunna need around 20 all together. I plan on flowering 12 after I veg them under t 5's for about a week or so. I'm currently also on the hunt for some high yielding indica seeds maybe one sativa that will eventually become mother plants.
