I went into the modelling business and then I went to New York. And my career, I loved it.
And yet she never had a work permit.

I worked on the first ttl logic crypto sytem in the air force. It handled data between bases for everything from payroll to launch codes. KG13 was the crypto device. It's declassified now. That started me out in the sixties. Actually at 14 I got my ham license and saved some money up from selling weened pigs to order electronics books. My brother got in to radiology. It's been a trip. I worked on a system that was doing radar profiles of the first inlet design on the first stealth. When I retired 3d printing and other unnamed processes are changing everything. Now they can take a playdoh like substance that is injected into a mold at around 200 deg f. After it solidifies it is removed from the mold and baked. It is a metal ceramic hybrid now. Moving too fast for me now.Karnaugh mapping FTW
She still has that same look. Belly ache look.![]()
That's our 1st lady on the right.
Nice

I didn't renew last year. I still have all of my shack. Since Reagan denutted the FCC and field offices closed the people I used to enjoy talking to have mostly left. It's now just like politics. No respect for others. 75 and 160 meters years ago at night was great. I could talk to people who were very sharp. Lots if interesting people. But the internet has become my source of learning about people now.I always wanted to get into HAM radio. Still do before I die.

“Naggers”Crazy fvcks?
If you mix up the letters of "the N word" is it like you're not saying it?
and you are already revolting. I seen pictures.
HAM radio is a thing of the past. That's sad to hear.
The internet is 99% garbage. I would have thought HAM would have been used by more intelligent people.
In the late 90's it started dying out. So lobbying from the manufacturers had them dumb down the testing. Now no code is required and the tests for the various classes are from a posted list. So you can't fail unless you can't memorize. So now we have cb'ers on amateur radio. Although years ago conspiracy nuts were on ham too. Art Bell used to hang on 160 meters. We used to talk before his coast to coast radio shows. I used to work 14 hours or more a day back in the 80's and 90's. So I'd listen to him on am radio at midnight. His callers were flat Earthers and I'm sure now birthers. The world is full of them. That's sad to hear.

Of course! But it allowed communication with people of various countries which gave an insight to culture and beliefs. Plus years ago I couldn't Google how a phase locked loop works. Or the antenna design for you cell phone was pioneered by hams at bell. So it used to be a way to talk to real design engineers and learn. And cell phone tower design? Hams. The FARA repeater system back in the 80's allowed me to talk to pretty much anyone for free. Ham or not. But requiring a license was a big drawback. Remember you are living off designs of others. Even the wheel.HAM radio is a thing of the past.
Today with a cell phone you can reach anyone, anywhere, anytime, know where they are and have a video chat
