Multi chamber perpetual grow...hopefully

Hello RIU. I am in the planning phases for a cab grow using a wardrobe cabinet measuring 48"x20"x72". It's the same thing as the Mills C-24 cab. What i plan to do is have four areas; flower area ~23"x20"x60", a mother/veg area ~23"x20"x36", a clone/veg area ~23"x20"x24", and an utility area ~48"x20"x12".

Flower Area
I plan to use a 250w HPS, remote magnetic ballast (HTG), and a super nova hood. I will cool the light using the stanley mod. I am still not sure how i should exhaust the area if i am using a passive system. I have a plan to use two cpu fans with smaller carbon filters on both fans. blowing into the utility area. The light ehaust will be sent straight out through the top.

Mother/Veg
I will have about three moms lighted by a 2" 2bulb T5HO fluoro w/ veg lights. Leftover available space will have clones in 1gallon pots.

Clone/veg
I have a Humidity dome measuring 22"x10"x10". I will try to see if i can use closet storage wire, mounted to the walls to hold the humidity dome, and some clones. Otherwise i will cut holes into the shelves and use those. Both the mother and clone area will be vented using passive intakes and two cpu fans going into the utility cab. This area will be lighted using 3-6 cool white cfls.

Utility area
I hope to have all electrical equipment in this area with some room for a drying space. I know that i will have a power strip strictly for the flower area and one power strip for the other.

Any input?

much thanks,

Diagram please? I understand what youre saying but I think a simple diagram with a few labels would increase your replies

Personally I wouldn separate the mothers and clones. Clones are shorter so on the same level, theyll receive partial light which is all they need until they grow. Save yourself the hassle and have more room to work with as need be.

Sorry if this is well known but..whats the stanley mod?

I have a veg chamber thats about 2'x3'x2' and I use computer fans to vent (both direct on cfl's (26w x 8) and four 40 cfm going straight out the top with passive intakes on the bottom) and I still struggle with heat, usually 78 ambient, 83 soil surface (well, about five inches above soil surface, three inches from light maybe)

How much progress have you made putting this together?

Hello, I am working on the drawings as i progress. I know it makes sense to me, but picture would do justice for everyone who wants to help. I just finished most of the front view--re-adjust the lighting for clone area.
The stanley mod is a Air mover which can be a cheap way to exhaust your hood. It requires a little more room than a normal in-line, centrifugal, dayton fans, but it can push around 265cfm on its lowest setting--from what i've read.
I haven't constructed it yet. "Failing to plant is planning to fail". I have a box, future mojo room for breeding, which is ~23x14x23" lit with cfls, and i struggle with heat also. i have ambient temps of 80F. I'm on 12/12 right now, so i can balance it off by running the box during nights. My soil temps are 1-3 degrees above ambient, but above that it's much hotter. My leaves have curled under, but still throw out plenty of hairs.

thanks,

The first picture is how the cab would look layed out from the front. The top area i left clear because this is where i think i'll put my electrical equipment. The things that are missing, and also need kokua (help), are where to mount my stanley exhaust, how to exhaust the cabs, what lighting i need to use for clone area, how to place my Humidity dome, and other things i don't see because of my lack of exerience.
The second picture is what the top view will look like. I have the T5 overlapping the Humidity dome because it is mounted above the light--see pic 1. I thinking this is how i should lay out both the light and the humidity dome. I'm thinking of using the wire rack mounted to the wall to hold up the dome.

Nothing from anyone? I'm not looking for someone to construct and design. I mainly need help with ventilation set up.

thanks,

Hey Kailiwela44,

I am new to this, but I just built a cabinet very similar to yours, except I removed the central upright plank, dividing the flowering and vegging chambers. Everything looks alright to me, the one thing I was not too sure about the the 12 inches to marked from the bottom. Is that another chamber? Looking at your mom's chamber, I would feel that it's a bit short. 13 inches from the light to the floor will leave little room for big, healthy mom's for big, healthy clones. Hope that I can help. Good luck.

Peace:bigjoint:

The 12" are the approximate height of the pots i wanted to use (2gallon). I'm growing an indica in a one gallon pots (totally different grow box) so i am working on my new dimension set up. As for the mother chamber, i am keeping it flexible, height wise. After i get this bad boy tuned up, i'm going to be attempting all the cultivation tech--topping, supercropping, scrog, sog, etc...As far as the original height i planned, the moms would actually have two feet of grow space. Please be patient for my new plans. I do most of my posting at work, and pictures come only if my gf isn't doing her studies. i've gone through the things you've mentioned. But its still good that you post stuff like that in case someone misses something. kudosbongsmilie
