Hey, just out of curiosity, how much h2o2 are you using? Also, you might want to try and put a clip fan on the side of your tub or something and have it blow some air on the base of the plants, if nothing else, it will keep the root area cooler.

Well

I just put them into flowering mode yesterday...so Wednesday the 19th (Just as I predicted in my earlier post ).

I'm almost sure that after only 24 hrs of 12/12 I already see signs of Sex....I know that sounds crazy. I can hardly believe it myself. It's probably just new foliage.

Although I don't have any pictures....I cannot believe the rapid growth of my root system. Some of the roots are 10" and that has occured since the root rot. Belladonna is and unbelievably surprising beast. Its as strong as an Oak.

I took only 4 clones--mainly because I want to try a new strain next grow...but I'll want to have at least 1 or 2 clones for my next grow. They will have lived 1 full week this Sunday as clones. 3 out 4 are doing very well in their humidty-dome.

Anyways more pics Monday (as usual)

Welp,

Here we are first week of flowering and they are looking good.

This week I found that adding nutes a little at a time (after a res change)..followed by a TDS reading...and then rinse and repeat was by far the best way (for me) to get to the number I wanted. The other formulas that I used with Lucas's formula usually meant nute burn and a battle over the next few days to get back on track.

Now I add 10mls of Nova....5 mls of Micro....then take a TDS reading. I keep doing this til I get the correct number. At this time it's 620 PPM.

The next day I top off and take another reading. If the nutes have dropped I add more in the same manner. If they TDS increases I subtract more. I do this until my readings remain the same and only water is being depleted. It works well.

Im in my first week of flowering. My clones have survived a full week (all but one)-so lets hope at least one is a female.

Other than that--Things seem to be well with my plants.

Your plants look great, I'm jealous. Did you end up killing the rot with h2o2?
Firstly....Thanks to

Ygrow and Nastyhr and yourself for your words of encouragement.

As far as the root rot goes---im not really sure I had it at all after reading a couple of threads in the newbie section. It could have been more of a "browning effect" which was caused by the nutes. Afterall that Bloom Nova is like a thick brown paint.

If it was rot--Im going to say that I had successfully treated the problem. But im leaning towards it was more because of a browning colouring and may not have been root rot at all.

I've had browning of my roots too, and I don't think mine is necessarily root rot either. Your girls look too nice to have root rot, I think.

Added A/C today to my grow room. Its only 5000btu...but it's plenty for my room and with a close proximity to my grow tent--it's perfect.

Just in time for a heatwave (a great motivator). The rest of my house is as hot as hell though...but im okay with that.

One of my clones after only 9 days in a humidity dome with nothing but H2O fogging--this baby is already for the 4" Rockwool (in net planters with Hydroton)...my first successful clone ever.

The other 2 look good but they aren't like this baby. Lets hope it's a "femme la fatal."
We shall see come this Monday where the update will be sexing!

Im going to need a little help in that department.

See you all Monday!

I've been considering buying a used aircon on Craig's list to add to my room, also. The only issue I have with getting one is the potential light leaks and possibility that a new window unit might arouse suspicion in neighbors or passing police. I've talked to my growing mentor about it and he's cautioning me about getting one for these reasons. My room generally stays cool enough just with my central AC, but it would be even better with a dedicated AC.

Congrats on the cloning success. Once you get it down, you'll probably have mostly successful clones from then on.

Cloning is a great skill in growing--no doubt.

For me, I actually want to try all kinds of new strains. Thats why I only cut 4 clones...if they all died; or they were males--that's not a problem. Im already trying to shop for my next grow strain. Bubblegum is certainly the most serious consideration--but I may look at 2009 Cannabis Cup winners and runners up.

what to do....what to do...

Goodluck with the A/C Bubbles. I really didn't have a choice because the tent is (some what of) a "Hot Box." We had record breaking temperatures here in the North-East. Although im sure they would have been fine...Im just trying to stay within acceptable guidelines.

...mostly because im anal like that.

awsome, ive notices alot of people in the reef aquarium hobby switching over to T5s from MH for the same reasons; less heat, less power, cheaper setup, cheaper bulbs, more coverage, wider spectrum, etc..... And those who can afford it are even starting to go LED with great results.

I'll deffinately be subscribing

Congrats on the clone! What did you use? Gel? My buddy and I use something called Olivia's, you should check it out if you're having cloning issues.

I used nothing but water, a fogger ($2.00 from a dollar store) and a cheap plastic humidty dome...and a root gel I bought from a big box store.

Just in case you didn't know already, as long as you take clones from established females, they'll always be female. Of course, if you take clones from plants for which sex hasn't been determined, who knows. It's like a veritable crap shoot, at that point.

Yes sir, I am aware.

Originally I was going to take 3-4 clones from each plant and mark them (EG clones marked #1...came from plant #1)....then just throw away the cuttings from the males...and grow the females. Again, I wanted to grow different strains...so im just doing the clone thing to check it out.

Timing wise...I'd have to keep the clones alive for 7 weeks while my crop blooms.....but I could always take clones from the clones if I need the extra time...(if I wanted more Belladonnas). But i should be able to sustain the clones for 7 weeks (manually feeding them) under my 24hr 2' T5's. I'll just give them lite nutes and feed by hand. Then when the are ready for the flood bed...they'll be able to handle full strength. Maybe even go stright into flowering...I'll have to see how that parts goes. I wouldn't anticipate any problems with doing it this way though.

unless im missing something.
