multi strain grow

im still a pretty new grower and im thinking of growing 3 different plants from ilgm in a 3x3x6,

gorilla glue and blue dream are listed as tall plants and the granddaddy purp is listed as compact. would that be hard?
i dont like having to smoke the same one strain until the end of the next grow.

anyone have experience growing different sized plants? any advice?

Naw, just veg the short plants for longer or top the tall plants more. Failing that, just put a box under the short plants to keep the canopy even. You will have a harder time with feeding unless you mix nutes separately. And try growing 4 plants in a 3x3.

im using dr earth nutrients for the first time. i only have one fully kitted 3x3 idk if i could veg them out for different times
and wont 4 5 gal pots be too big for a 3x3?

I've got 4 different strains in a 4x4. To keep an even canopy I have to aggressively supercrop one of my plants on a daily basis, while two of the others are up on top of buckets to get the extra height they need. Growing multiple strains is a lot more work than growing a single crop (clones of the same plant are especially nice and easy), but you do end up with a variety of smoke, which is the only reason we do it. Keep in mind, it's the least efficient way to grow since each plant finishes at a different time, sometimes a month apart, but if you don't care about that, it's a fine and fun way to grow. Good luck on your horticultural adventure!

ripple said the same. idk why i never thought of just raising the more compact strains.
i have an extra tent imma use for drying so the harvest time shouldnt be a problem.
i just hope this grow is better than the ones before.
thank yall for your help, its really appreciated.

i am doing different strains as well this time. As everyone said - easy to lift up the shorter ones on something. I often just use over turned pots or whatever is lying around that gets them to the right height. Dr earth is good stuff I use it exclusively as top dressing for my FFOF organic grows. What soil are you using?

Unless I have 5 friends growing I sure as heck grow multiple strains every round. You simply adjust for height by adjusting what they stand on. Also, most breeders are FOS about how tall they grow anyway. Most strains have a lot of pheno variation. I veg until they 2nd tallest is at my flip height and that has worked well.

I am going to preface this by stating I’m not a professional like many growers here. But what worked very well for me sounds like what you’re doing. Start with FFOF or happy frog or mix them. They’r a good base. I mix in about 30% perlite to get a little more air in there. Put each plant in a five gallon fabric pot and do nothing but water for 3 weeks or so. Then give them a little foliage spray with epsom salt one night and maybe a simple molasses/ worm castings tea... as week 4 finishes up I top dress/ scratch in dr earth 4-5 tbsp. I use the tomato but general purpose or something like that is fine. Week five .. I do another epsom foliage spray, top dress/scratch 4 tbsp dr earth bloom.week 6 molasses/worm castings tea plus epsom spray. Week 7 2 tbsp dr earth bloom. That’s really it. Just water to the end with maybe one or two molasses?/ worm teas around week 8 & 10.

I think that will make your life easier because you don't have to worry about feeding.

On my latest grow I pulled one girl out and gave her 3 days of darkness because she was ahead. Then I switched the lights to 12-12 and pulled the behind girl out for some extra light for about a week. It would be harder with more plants but still doable.

Depends entirely on how long you veg for. 2 is perfect for me in 5 sq. ft 1.7x3
