connect them all to a central point. and make sure you dont go over the amp rating on the phone charger or else the fans will spin but never 'kick over'

What do you mean by "kick over"? I use a rotation of rechargeable drill batteries for the PC fans on my dry box. Should I be making sure they are not just spinning all the time but doing something else too??? Just curious, thanks~

Using a pc power supply would be using a whole lot of wattage just to power a few cpu fans
You would be using less wattage with a regular inline fan

Dont use the power supply. Its a waste.

Are the fans 12v or 6v?

I used three 12v pc fans in my box. I used a electric shaver charger that puts out 12 volts. Plugged that into a wall socket thats spliced into my lights, INSIDE the box. Very stealth.

Btw, 12v on my little fans, make them put out like a mofo! You could probably use a 6v source, on a 12z fan, and probably be alright.

you just look for the main plug for mother borad .and find the gray wire cut it and a black one and hook them together and you can hook up as many fans as you want....works great.....

HORRIBLE ADVICE!!
You are telling him to use like 250 watts to power a couple dinky little cpu fans
That is a waste of electricity, a 790 CFM 10 inch inline fan uses 224 watts which would be less wattage than those cpu fans hooked up to the comp power supply and it would put out like 25 times more air
Here is a link to the fan I was speaking of: http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/vortex-10-inch-790-cfm-high-power-inline-fan-p-1367.html

Just because it is capable of pulling 250w doesn't mean it does. That's silly.

Thats horrible advice,

If a power supply says 400watts that means the MAXIMUM power. If the fans are taking 1watt then the powersupply only uses 1 watt! I am using two nice powerful computer fans with LED's and the powersupply is always cool and never gets any heat at all. Furthermore the fan on the power supply helps ventilation! If you can salvage a power supply somewhere or purchase a cheap one you should definitely do it.

Below is a link to my first CFL grow and i used a power supply for the fans and a picture shows how i made the power supply work. I added a paper clip to connect the black and green wire (beside each other) on the 24pin motherboard connector. Its the largest connector its quite simple. The paper clip goes into the small pin holes connecting them and then the power supply will work without a computer.
